The closest Kappa club to us is the MASC in the Jersey/PA area, and the Sky folks in Delaware get together monthly in and around their state. The two groups have some overlap both geographically and in membership because of their proximity. I went on an MASC run in November and will see some of the same people in DE/MD next weekend. If you can make it, it should be a good time.

While all the folks I met n PA were wonderful, it would be nice if my Sky made some friends closer to home. There's been mention of starting a LI club on the Solstice forum, but nothing has really happened yet. A few people have met up at Captree on Sunday mornings, but that's about it.

I'd be very psyched to help form and participate in a club, but I wouldn't have the first clue what I'd be doing. That's about the only reason I haven't been pushing to organize something. I'd feel like a bit of a scumbag if I prodded people with "Let's do it! Let's do it! Let's do it!" then backed off and said, "Um- YOU do it."

Me and my Father are both in for April. I have no idea how to start this up or keep it going. If anyone has an idea on what to do, we will help were we can. I am in printing. Maybe I can print stuff out and send to local dealers to post info on a meet.

Any suggestions???

Printing flyers will help. There are plenty of spots on Long Island to cruz to(winerys, Montauk, hamptons etc.). We just have to get thru the winter months.

My Silver Pearl

Hey All,

I bought my Silver Pearl, in early Sept this yr and I'm in the Mastic/Shirley area.

When I first saw this car, I fell in love with it. So I went to the two dealers on Long Island and they were looking to put me on a list. Besides one of them were going to over charge me 5 thousand dollars. So I came home and did a search on the internet, and found my car. The car was located in Buffalo NY, so I booked 2 one way tickets for $300.00 and off we went. We flew to Buffalo, and I couldnt have asked for better service. Plus we were paying 5 thousand less, so it was worth the trip. It was also a great ride back home to Long Island.

I work in Bohemia, so thats where you will see me driving around.

I have started a thread on the Sol forum for club name nominations. It can be found here:

LI/NY Area Club Name Nominations

The rules and timeline for the voting can be found here:

Rules

And discussion of the name and voting process will continue in this thread:

New Club [Long Island, NY]

The nominations, voting, and discussion will continue over there because that is where the bulk of the discussion has happened so far. If you would like to give your input, please join in the fun on the Sol forum and make your voice heard to all!

Welcome aboard, canonball! It looks like the next NY area driving event will be the MASC Meet & Greet and "Buds and Blossoms" Run on April 28th. It would be great if you can join us!

There are also some people who've expressed interest in going to the NY Auto show as a group, and we'd love to have you in the local group we're putting together.

Reminder- Club Name Nominations Close Tomorrow!

I posted a recap of all the names people have submitted in the LI/NY Area Club Name Nominations thread. If you have an idea that you'd like to see in the running, please be sure to add it by 7:00 tomorrow evening. After that, I'll ask our frinedly moderators to close the thread and I'll set up a poll so we can vote.

Discussion continues here,

And the rules are still here.
