Hello, this is my first visit to your site. The Lime Rock race went well, we qualified with the second best time in the second session on Friday. Saturday night and into the morning brought heavy rain to Lime Rock, the track had standing puddles and was soaked. We did a 10 minute warm up at 9:30am in the rain with rain tires and then watched the weather radar and saw that the last band of storms passed the area about 10am. It still looked gray, heavy overcast and the track was soaked. We made the decision to race on dry tires, we were the first group, going out on a wet track at 10:25am. The first half of the race was like driving on ice, dry tires are like slicks, they don't have any tread, and hydroplane on the slightest bit of wet, then with about 5 laps to go a dry line started to appear, and I got some of the grip I was looking for, as long as the car stayed on the line, the more you push it, the more it drifts off line, we ended up 5th. Wish the the weather had cooperated alittle more.
Thanks SkymanCT for the photo's, nice job, I hope you enjoyed the race? The New England Region of the SCCA would like to bribe this group to take a rols in helping raise money for an upcoming race "Racing Against Leukemia", to be held at NHIS (NH International Raceway-Loudon NH) with 2 qualifying sessions on Sat Aug 25 and our SSB race on Sunday Aug 26 at approx 11am. Admission is $20 for the weekend, if the group raised money the SCCA would like a group picture and will post it in the NER magazine "PitStop" and possibly the National magazing "SportsCar". Your admission will include: authorization to drive your car into the paddock area (all Kappa cars will park together), watch all the racing you can take (7 groups running), lunch provided by my race team in the paddock at our trailer, track rides (at the conclusion of racing on Sat track rides are available for $15...working on a group rate for the Kappa's who raise money for this cause, take your own car out on the track at NHIS), soda, beer and wine party with dinner all inclusive paid for by SCCA in the garage area. Tenting is allowed and there are showers, several other motels and hotels in the Loudon-Concord NH area. Come one day or both days, it is up to you. ![]() |

Thanks again
Bob,
Thanks again, I had a great time. I've started a new thread to bring this event to the top on SkyRoadster and I've asked Birdliver to get one going on the Solstice Forum. Hope to see you at NHIS on the 25th, I'm not sure about the 26th yet as I have another run that I headed up on that day and I'm going to have to wait to see how it affects the others already signed up. - Mark
