Name: spdrmn.bmp

In an effort not to hijack the thread started by RICHM. I thought we might start separate thread to pick up on Dengel's and Spag's thought of going to the Drive-In in Vineland NJ. Friday the 4th at 9:45PM for Spiderman 3.

There is a double feature that starts at 8PM.

Weather is expected to be nice.

Please post if you are attending.

Dengel & Spag, any idea of how early we need to arrive as the move will be hot and it is a double feature?

No idea how quickly the Drive In will fill up. But I guess someone could call and try to find out.

Some additional things to consider:

According to their website, the Box Office opens at 6:15pm.

For a fee of $7.00 per car, we can buy Outside Food Permits which allow you to bring outside food and drink (but no alcohol) into the Drive-In.

Perhaps we could plan on getting there a couple of hours before the movie and have a little "tailgate" party before the movie starts. Cheese and crackers, fruit, finger sandwiches, chips, that kind of thing?

Lets see who signs up and how large a group we get going, and go from there.

also... I have never been there... but pics I found on the 'net indicate that this is a dirt drive-in. Just mentioning for those who are a little more particular about thier cars.

EDIT: I found the pics. Start at this page, I think there are more on the next.

Man, I didn't even notice that "Are We Done Yet" is the opening feature at 8:00pm.

Not exactly a movie I was planning to see, but I guess I will sit through it if I have to....

So I'm guessing we will need to be there earlier than 8:00pm to get into position, then kill 2 hours watching the first show before we get to see Spiderman.

I suggest we plan to be there around 6PM. We can do the taigating thing that should be fun. I am with you Are We Done Yet not on my list but we propable have to sit through that due to how popular the "main" feature is.

Yeah, pretty much all of the picture and video hosting sites are blocked. Concerns about viruses embedded in the pics and vids you might download from them, I think.

Also blocked are sites like myspace, anything that might be considered "pornographic" (can't shop Victoria's Secret from my desk) and gambling/lottery sites. Drives me nuts when I can't look up the winning lottery numbers.

BTW, I'm fine with a little dirt on my car too. If you haven't already heard, I lead the "Gravel and Dust Tour" in Southern NY this past weekend.

I thought it was: The Gravel, Minefield, "Your killin' me", "Hotdog" Tour.

I say we get there early, pay the outside food fee and have a nice long picnic during the first movie...

Early would be nice - It was great being in the first row on Saturday - we were able the spread out in front of the cars and relax! The rows are far enough back you don't have to look up like you do in the theater.

Remember - people have already pre-purchased tickets for the first couple of weeks at some theaters!

Well, I might have to rely on some of those closer to the area to get there and save me a parking spot. Mapquest is saying its a 2 1/2 hour drive for me. So if I leave work at 4:30pm, that's and ETA of 7:00pm, assuming no traffic.

Bring some of those drugs your taking - this is New Jersey we're talking about _ leave work at 3 on Thur. and you might make it on time!
AND QUIT USING MAPQUEST-it's probably getting u to NJ by way of CT.

I will try to callthe theater tonight and see if they can sell us "advance tickets" and if we could rope off a club area for a car count to be determined by Thursday.

Need to know howmany in your car 1 or 2 to arrange tickets. (see original post)

Well I have a GPS unit that I use in the car, but it doesn't work all that great from my desk.

And I usually just use mapquest as a first estimate on the time. I drive A LOT faster than mapquest figures the average driver does.

dengel,
My oldest daughter went to Rowan University in Glassboro so I spent many hours traveling there. 2 1/2 hours is about right. We used to get on 295 around exit 7 on the NJ Twp. 295 was a little nicer then the Turnpike.
Here is how we used to go, we got off 55 at exit 50A, you would keep on 55 for a short while longer.

Tom

206 South to 287 South to NJ Turnpike South, to

Exit 7, after toll bear left to 206 South (McGuire Air Force Base).

Exit onto 206 South for just a few feet, Go Right at light and follow signs

for 295 (Old York Road). Short distance later go Right. Follow signs

for 295 (just follow the trucks). About ½ mile later go Left onto 295 South

Stay on 295 South for quite a while. Follow signs for Rt. 42 South (Del. Memorial

Bridge/Atlantic City) (see small sign for Rowan_. After road splits get into

Left Lane (42 is a Left hand exit). Take 42 South for a few minutes, then get onto

55 South (Glassboro/Vineland) to Exit 50A 322 East to Glassboro (Rowan).
