Thumbs up Wilmington Employees Rock!!!!! Thank You

I wanted to start a thread that thanked the employees with pictures. Separate from all our wonderful weekend pics. I feel they deserve a thread only to them.
This was my first trip to Mecca, It was truly wonderful but here I want to praise just the Plant employee's. The welcome that we got was tremendous, the open arms from all the staff and line workers. As I sat in the morning address to the group I felt awe in the fact that in front of me was banners of past cars....I own a 67 Impala rag top, made at that plant for CANADA, I am as proud of that wonderful car as I am of my Sky, which was one of the first groups sent to CANADA. WHAT made me have tears in my eyes all day was the employees out in the parking lot, working in the heat of the sun making every car they could in better shape then when they drove in that morning. I spent hours watching and taking shot after shot of the finesse of the gentleman pulling out dings in cars, it was perfection of an art form that I hope will not be lost in the future. The employee that was doing the amazing touch ups on the paint chips, touching and buffing until you never knew there had been a chip. The employees that worked hours on trunk alignments and window adjustments. The employees who spent a lot of time on my car trying to get the top to close with less stress and the pinching of the top. The group that worked on a car fixing the door panels.
There is an art form to all that they did, I took shots that showed all of this and I just want to share with this forum. I thank you all Employees of the Wilmington Plant, our hearts are with you in all the uncertainty but do know this..... WE LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE MADE FOR US and will be forever THANKFUL

I agree,

One of the best experiences I had all day was speaking with the Wilmington employees. I am blown away by how enthusiastic they were, how friendly they were, how they loved all of our mods, the skill level they possess both on and off the assembly.
Then top it off with the fact that every person I met, felt like a friend.

Heartfelt thanks .....

JustMike, MarlboroMike, Spag, Solli4Me, Mickey—your efforts are immensely appreciated.

Special thanks to Bob Melton and his crew: TLC--Mike Campaneau(?), Jeff Korsyn, Rick Grepo, Bill (tops+), Tony (trunk alignments+), Ed (paint magic) and the others whose names I did not get; Joe Riccio & Jose Gonzalez (UAW); as well as all the ladies and gentlemen of the Wilmington plant who brought our babies into the world and were so kind to invite us into the birthing room and guide us along the gestation and delivery process, answering any questions we may have had; and also to Steven (solstice engineer at hotel)—anyone who did not get a chance to pick his brain has no idea what they missed, a virtual encyclopedia of kappa information (I would not consider doing any type of alteration to my vehicle without consulting him first!)
Words cannot express our gratitude for all the who made MECCA III happen.

Simply stated but deeply felt ..... THANK YOU!!!

WHAT an AMAZING day!!! And yes, I am the LUCKIEST girl in Delaware for getting the replacement door panels! The passenger door was virtually impossible to open from the inside with the broken door handle! The poor guy who spent FOUR HOURS working on my interior! I will forever appreciate your efforts!

The pictures of the dent removal on my graphite's wheel well, amazing! My poor accident magnet now gets parked MILES from any other cars in the lots!

Thank you to all of the amazing guys and women at Wilmington! My prayers are with you that things improve and Saturn stays with us! Those 2010 Sky's are looking pretty tempting!

Linda

Thanks to all that worked on the few little hiccups I had as well. What a great bunch of people, I pray for their families financial and mental well being in these troubled times.

And man that dent guy was a true artist!
