Are you driving your Sky to the May 19th plant tour?

How are you getting your Sky to the May 19th plant tour? I am sure many people are driving there but I do not have enough luggage room to just drive my car alone so I am renting a trailer and hauling it to the tour with my Honda Ridgeline. Am I the only one doing this?

Oh my. We felt awkward when we drove our Ford pickup to the Corvette plant. You're going to leave the Honda at the hotel, right?

We managed a 3 day trip on the bike, and that was with rain gear and leathers, so I'll find some way to pack enough in the Sky. Worst case, my husband only needs his dopp kit and a change of underwear.

Since I'm coming from SC, I'm thinking of driving my work Demo but I may still drive my SKY... I'm freaking big for my RedLine... I drove her 354 miles in one day before and my back needed some rest from her... I have found a way to be more comfy so I may just drive her up there... I'm yet to do a Map-quest from home to Wilmington's plant to see how long it will take me to get there...

I'll do that now and see how far it really is...

Regards,

BA...

Sky as a Trailer Queen, OMG

Saturn Sky Dude,
I need to borrow that trailer and truck in September my 64 Alpine needs to be trailed to Ohio from Oklahoma for the annual Sunbeam Invasion, she is very old and NO A/C not sure if the old gal will make it that far.
I would drive the Sky any place in the USA, heck you even got OnStar!
Now the brave and foolish souls are the two gentlemen that drove a 40+ Sunbeam Alpine from Northern Florida to Tulsa, OK last year for the Sunbeam Invasion, 1100 miles one way in June with unseasonable temperatures of 90+ without A/C. Hauling a Sky, good grief

Well... Looks like I have a 9.5 hour drive from Columbia, SC to the Boxwood Rd Plant...

I guess I will be deciding what to drive depending on what Demo I have at the time and how I'm feeling phisically... We'll see...

BA...

Well, I went to the National Solstice Meet in Kansas City last year, and packed everything I needed for the 6 day trip in my Solstice. (I did not have a passenger though.)

Use soft sided duffle bags that you can squish around the various blockages in the trunk, and if you are short enough that you don't need to push your seat all the way back against the rear wall, mount a hook there to hang clothing on hangers. Use small travel size toiletries and be realistic in how many items you need to bring (always a challenge for me) and you will find that you can pack for a decent length trip.

If you have a passenger, you may need to travel to and from with the top up so that you utilize the sides of the trunk, but in the end, won't it be worth it to have your car with you at The Mecca Tour?
