If any of you are not familiar with April weather here at the beach, this may be of interest:

Average temperatures for the month of April are:
High's of 75-80
Low's of 53-60
Avg. Precipitation 3.10 inchs

Post #1 updated, now includes locals..We are up to 62 cars already.

Unfortunately we are back to square one in choosing a resort. Barefoot Resort shot themselves in the foot when we looked over the contract. Too many hidden costs in there that they failed to mention at our meeting.

I'll keep you informed.

Worked and lived in the Myrtle Beach area for two years prior to moving to Maryland (why did I ever do that...

) - really love the town and all there is to do. Count me in!

And if it somehow coincides with the weekend of the 20th, it'll work as an Anniversary Get-Away for my wife and me!!

We are meeting with the Crown Reef Resort people this Thursday the 30th. We are going back to the Barefoot Resort to go over their earlier proposal.
We still have a couple of places to look at.We are excited about hosting the regional in 2009. We just wish it was soon.

Up-Date 2009 S.E. Regional Myrtle Beach Meet:
A group of our Club members met with the Sales Manager of the Holiday Inn West. After going over everything with her, we are leaning in the direction of holding our meeting there.
This hotel has 153 rooms. If we coulds block off all 153 room ,do you think it would be possible to fill it up with Solstices and Skys? Joe and I have a little bet . He thinks we will have a hard time filling 100 rooms ,I'm thinking more like 150-200 . It would be great if our group were the only onces in the hotel.
This hotel is located on the Intercoastal Waterway. The new Hard rock Theme Park is currently under construction adjacent to the hotel with a scheduled opening for spring of 2008.

As soon as we finalize the details and have a contact, we wiil post firm dates,room rates, and registration costs.

2009 Southern Regional Solstice/ Sky Meet
April 23rd - 25th ,2009
It's Official!!

We have signed the contact to hold the 2009 meet at the Holiday Inn West , Myrtle Beach, SC. We have booked the entire hotel for this event. You can start making your reservation now. The room rates are $109.00 plus taxes per night stay. Use this code SSC when making reservations. Phone # 1-800-847-2707 or 843-236-1000. the cut off date is 1/1/09. These rates are good from 4/21 - 4/27 , so why not make this a vacation.

We are waiting for our logo to come back. We enlisted one of our local high school art class to come up with our logo for this event. Hopefully we will get a winner. When we get that back we will post the registrations fee's along with our T- shirt design. At that time we will also post the itinerary, food and beverage menu. We are still working on a few more surprises.
