Carolinas Kappa Club

I took the first step to start a club for North and South Carolina. I have been working with Sol-Candy to get a feel for interest from the solstice side and it looks really good.

The website is up. www.carolinaskappaclub.com If you have any issues with the site PM or email me.

Club dues will be $15 for Founding Members (2006-2007 owners) and $20 for all other members. This will cover the cost of the website hosting, cards to give to potential members and dealers, banners, and event sponsorship for member.

We need members to coordinate local area events and add them to the event calendar. Sol-Candy has volunteered for the Charlotte area, I will handle Columbia, SC. Please let me know if you would be willing to handle your area.

Not all events have to be something that all members can attend. There will be local events that are more geared towards local members and other events that more members from both states can attend. Put all of the events on the calendar. I have added a few events that I found and am looking forward to seeing what other members contribute.

For now, if you would like to become a member, sign up on the site and then email me so that I can activate your membership and get your payment. Eventually, we will try to get a paypal account or something of the sort to take the membership payments.

Sounds good see you then. That makes 9 members in about 24 hours!

We have found 1 major flaw. You can post to the forum, but it will not show. It worked fine on my delelopement server, but when I moved it over to the live site the fuction quit working. I have a programmer looking into it and will let everyone know when it is up and working.

club list on saturn.com

Here is the link to add your club to saturn.com (if you haven't already - I didn't see it just now).

http://www.saturn.com/mysaturn/enthu...p?pg=form&ok=y

Thanks for doing this. Let me know if you have any traveling events through Charlotte, Hickory or Concord, NC that should involve stops at the retail facilities.

White Water Rafting

Would anyone be interested in doing this? Maybe late July.....Let me know if there is an interest!!

http://www.usnwc.org/

Paddle through non-stop class II-IV whitewater on the world's largest man-made recirculating river! Our fully guided raft trips take you through the heart of our 300 acre wooded facility, providing an unparalleled whitewater experience only minutes from uptown Charlotte.
Over the course of the two hour trip, you'll surf waves on the wilderness section and challenge your skills on the tight turns of the competition channel. After a run down, you will ride a conveyer belt back to the upper pond to take on another channel!

Helmet, personal flotation device and paddle provided. Aditional rental gear available.

There are numerous events on the calendar for the Carolinas Kappa Club. Please see them here http://carolinaskappaclub.com/default.aspx. You can also RSVP to any of these events so others will know who is going.

Actually, this sounds like a lot of fun!! I've always wanted to do it. There's a good chance that I might be in the neighborhood at the end of July. I won't know until it happens though (just the nature of the business).

***NEW Event Added To The Calendar***

US National White Water Center

Saturday, July 21, 2007
9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

I am going to drive out there this weekend to check it out....Will post later.

Note: I am not sure of the time yet. I will post here when I call to see if we need a reservation. I thought after the ride we could go for lunch or dinner depending on when we are done. You can get a raft that fits 6. Maybe we can fill 2 of them.

Please PM me if you plan on attending.

Thanks!

This sure looks like fun so I hope that eveyone will make an effort to come.

Sounds Like a Plan

Hey - if we do dinner after the rafting trip I can recommend several of the restaurants in downtown Belmont. Once we get a head count I'll be happy to organize that if needed!!

Count me and my hubby in on the rafting!!
