Charlotte Area Sky Get Together?

1.) New to the board = yep, I am a newbie
2.) Sky4Her and I share our Sky, so there could be a fight soon
3.) Anyone have any Starbuck's?! Lmao

In all seriousness, I was wondering just how many folks we have in the Charlotte Area, and if there was any organized get togethers for all of us to meet n greet one another?

Both Sky4Her and I are huge in the Charlotte sportbike scene, and usually hang out with our Club, but as of late, and the more we drive the car, the more we are oft left wondering if anyone else, other than us, would like to see a get together?

I know that in our neighborhood alone, we have a silver sky (PJ's Sky) and ours...but we have not seen much more here on the south side o town.

Bueller? Bueller?

You should have had that white SKY at the dragon this weekend, one cause it was a great time and two we did not have one white SKY, which I found kind of strange.
Welcome aboard, also there is a Labor Day parade in the works there in Charlotte.

Hi! My husband and I are in Lincolnton. We share our Sky as well. But seeing as how I am still learning the whole stick thing, there is not much fighting.... It's just easier to let him drive. I just don't get the manual. Maybe one day I will master it.

There are quite a few of us in the Charlotte and surrounding area. We get togther for dinner and rides from time to time. Our meeting place is usually Concord since it seems to be a good halfway distance from those of who frequently gather for food and fun.

Alas, had we known, we most likely would have been there with ya'll

However, both she and I are officers of a sportbike club here in Charlotte, and we were busy attending the 6th annual Rally In The Valley, Shady Valley, TN with members from our club.

We are soooooo there in regards to the parade, as of now, and I got a pm for a get together up in Concord this Friday...so it will be nice to finally put some faces with some names.

We have had a great welcome to the site, and am looking forward to meeting what seems to be some terrific folks here soon!

Welcome to the site.

I live up in High Point, but I have friends that live there off of South Boulevard so down in Charlotte about once a month or so.

You missed a great time last month when we had a white water rafting trip organized by SolCandy.

In addition to this board you can try http://www.carolinaskappaclub.com/default.aspx.

Yah....I'm a bit behind in adding to this thread.... Real Estate is keeping me busy today.

Looks like there are more Sky's in Charlotte than I thought. There was one other white Sky we saw while we were out on the motorcycles one day over on the north end of town by IBM....that's what made us look into the Polar White.... Ugh! She is SOOOO hard to keep clean....

MandiLu: Don't worry about the "stick thing" I learned a manual shift on a Fiero. The Sky's clutch is much more forgiving. You'll get the hang of it.

I've tried to PM most of the NC people I know, but, what the heck, why not make it an informal car show? A group of us are getting together at a little Mexican restaurant in Concord, NC, on Friday night at 7 PM for dinner, so if you're available come and join us! It's nothing fancy, but the one time we went there, they had good food and great margaritas. The restaurant is called Casa Grande and it's on the Concord Parkway between the Saturn Dealership and the speedway. When you turn into the parking lot, the restaurant is on your right.

Here's a Google map: Casa Grande I'm pretty sure that's the right one, but there are TWO of them on that street, so make sure to go to the one in the WalMart shopping center at Concord Commons.

Let me know if you plan to come because I'd like to let the restaurant know approximately how many to expect.

So far, Ken & I, Mandi & Steve (mandiLu & SteveMR2), Cindy (Sol-Candy) & Pat, Boomerblade & Sky4Her and Lucas (NCRedline) are planning to go. We might also have a couple of folks who are still in the area from the Tail of the Dragon cruise last weekend (a couple of solstices so Cindy won't feel lonely!).

'Hope you can make it!

Here is the address and the directions to the one we want to go to. The one Penny posted is not in the Wal-Mart shopping center.

Hi, I am a Solstice GXP owner. I was at the TOTD meet last weekend and had a blast. I live in Denver, NC on Lake Norman. I plan on joining the Friday night dinner. It sounds like fun.

We are definitely in! Don't smack us to hard if a few moments late...coming from Pineville up that direction at that timeframe can sometimes be swamped

Anybody else?? Those of you coming, if you plan to drink be sure to bring a designated driver or eat a lot after one or two drinks! We don't want any Sky or Sol DUIs or accidents. I'm not sure I'm even up to drinking after last Friday night's party by the pool!

Well...maybe just one or two margaritas...
