Dragon Event - Biltmore Estates June 27th

From PAO on the Solforum:

simply testing the waters here for those that might be interested in spending the day at Biltmore Estates in Asheville, NC on Fri 27 June during the TOD event. Here are the details from group sales:

""We ask that you have 20 adults to book a block of tickets for your group. Now through October 31st, 2008 tickets would be $36.00 per individual. Your ticket includes a self-guided tour of the House, gardens, conservatory and winery with a free wine tasting.""

The estates is approximately 90 miles from Fontana Village. A 7:30 AM departure from the from Fontana should get us there around 9ish.....the estate opens at 8:30AM...return would be at your own time....normal admission prices are $45 a person...

If you are interested let me know and sign up here....once we get the 18 more required....already including myself and UNEED2, I will see if we need to book the block as a group or if we can do it individually:

Sounds like a good time, but we'll be touring Biltmore on Wednesday.

SKYMRK, sorry I didn't relay this before. PAO had this message on the Sol thread:

I should be able to get the vouchers and have them available in limited numbers at registration

Isn't this the same time as the Blue Ridge Pky run and Appygirls run? I'll stick with the Blue Ridge run. So much to do, so little time.

I was wondering the same thing. Please don't take this the wrong way but why is it that all the runs so far are on Friday. I would like to go on the Blue Ridge Run and maybe go to Biltmore on Saturday. Is there a reason why it seems everything is planned on Friday. Once again I'm not complaining I was just wondering why so much is planned for Friday but nothing that I'm aware of for Saturday.

No problem at all.

From the itenarary on the main thread:

Saturday, June 28th

At this time, we plan to run the SkyWay-Dragon loop again on Saturday but this time in reverse. Also with the potential size, we will be breaking up the cars into groups of 10-15 each and sorted by driving style: Hard-Charger, Medium, Laid-Back. Also with the potential size and groups we will need 2 volunteers for each group for Lead and Sweeper to look out for thier group. Also these leaders will need to find a lunch spot along the route. Anyone interested PM me or Appygirl.

*Dinner banquet*- Sat. June 28th 7-9pm

Fontana Village in the Carolina Room

Menu:
Roast Beef w/horse radish sauce and Au Jus
Cheese Ravioli
Red Skin Potato Salad
Mixed Greens Salad w/dressings
Southern Style Green Beans
Rice and Broccoli Casserole
Rolls w/butter
Sweet and Unsweet Tea/Water/Coffee
Peach Cobbler
Red Velvet Cake

I'll have specific route info up in the next few days. That's my fault for not being specific for those who were'nt here last year.
