Recommendations for SC activities
Hi all, we'll be driving to Charleston and Sea Brook for a wedding July 28, and have free time for a few days after that and wondering what you might recommend doing/seeing while in the area? Not sure if the Sky RL will be here by then to drive it, it is currently being made, but with the downtime and delivery it's difficult to tell. Just looking for sites to see that folks in the area recommend, drives up the coast? shopping areas? Myrtle Beach? I know it's difficult to recommend things to someone you don't know what they like to do, but just general things you might say for folks not to miss or check out would be appreciated!
Happy Trails and Thanks in advance!

Charleston is a beautiful and historic place. You could fill a weekend with just the Charleston area. There are a lot of beach front areas right around Charleston also. If you come through Columbia let me know. There are also many forum members that live in/near Charlotte. If you will be heading through Charlotte you may want to post here so that the group up there can try to plan something.

Definitely visit historic downtown Charleston. You could make a trip out of that alone. So much to do and see down there; the market, the battery, The Citadel, horse drawn carriage tours, the aquarium, a plethora of bars and eateries. Beaches close to Charleston: Isle of Palms (my favorite) and Folly Beach. The city of Mt Pleasant is very nice and the price tag of living there is indicative why. There is a new Tanger Outlet Center (shopping) in Charleston near Citadel Mall. Oh, and if you love chicken wings, then Wild Wing Cafe is a must visit bar/restaurant too. Seafood? Visit one of many restaurants in Mt Pleasant on Shem Creek (Reds in particular). "She-crab soup" is a MUST as an appetizer!!! They serve it in nearly every restaurant. City Bar in downtown Charleston is a good spot for the dance/club scene (20 to 30 something crowd). Thats about all i can think of off the top of my head. Ive lived there, more or less, since 1979 so i know quite a bit or know where to go to find out.
Also visit this site for more things to do: http://www.discovercharleston.com/ Thats the best site i could find now for tours, what to do, etc., etc. Have Fun!!!
