Another Canuck has heard the Dragon's call!!! I've heard good things about Tapoco. Restaurant has great food. 6 of the Lodge rooms have their own bathroom but the rooms on the third floor share communal bathrooms. There are also cabins. The Miatas stay there, if that's any indication.

Have you checked out our favorite, Fontana Village?

I'm thinking about staying at the Tapoco Lodge on Rte 129 near the Tail of the Dragon for a day or 2. Anyone stay there before, any comments ??

Also , any suggestion for decent hotels in nice areas of Nashville ??
Any "Must See" spots between Erie PA and Nashville as well ????

We can't wait, man this is gonna be fun.
Keep me updated on where you are, if you are going to be at the dragon on Thursday I might meet up with you before rolling into Lexington. Make sure you check out BILTMORE in Asheville, North Carolina, Americas Largest Home and More! you need most of a day to do it but so worth it. I will give you a good route down if you like. I can also PM you my cell and home number in case you get stuck somewhere...

Hopefully they won't be there when I arrive, I don't want to make them all feel somehow "inadequate"

Great - that means we'll each drive 3 hours to finally meet someone that only lives 10 minutes away.

Yeah, I was going to check in with you and see if you wanted to go, before I noticed that you will get there before I do.

Besides, we've met, sort of - I've waved at you going down the Corridor a couple times.

I know it's the eleventh hour but is it to late to join the crowd? We're trying to get a pet sitter as I type so not getting one would be the only drawback. If we do get one, then Saturday would be the earliest we could get there. Someone please advise. Thanks.

Your best bet is to PM KYGXP here and on the Solstice Forum.

You could also post hereSoutheastern Regional Meet on the Solstice Forum and see who responds.

Many folks are already there, but I know that KYGXP is doing last minute preparations. She is the organizer, try to get in touch with her.

Wow. This sounds like it's going to be an awesome event. I can't wait to see the pics! You guys are going to love driving our backroads and the scenery is beautiful. I went to Lexington when JR and KYGXP had the preliminary run last year. It was a good time. I was thinking about going to this one but since I'm not much of a socializer I'll opt to sit by the pool with my box-o-wine this weekend. I hope everyone has a good time and enjoys our great state of KY!

This is our first time attending this function and we'll be arriving Saturday morning and then later attending the dinner. My wife would like to know from anyone who has attended these affairs what is the dress code for dinner. I'm assuming casual but then again this is my first trip so what do I know. Thanks.

Hey Skippadoodle, thought I would give u a quick update, Yesterday was basically getting everyone here and registered with a meet and greet.
Myself and KYGXP and Jrsno1fan were the welcome table so we decided to dress the part for the KENTUCKY BOURBON RUN, we were saloon girls and Jr was our sheriff. I will have to get someone to post all 3 of us but here is one of me and KY

Kim,

Got home last night around 5:35 PM did 845 miles in a little over 12.5 hours.
(Left KY at 5AM - for anyone doing the math that's an average speed of 67.6 MPH and two fillups to boot)
and no autographs BLK GXP
Southeastern Regional Meet 8/21-24 2008 Part 2 - Page 15 - Pontiac Solstice Forum
Saw two Red Sols and one Yellow Sols going opposite direction but no Skys.

Sorry I didn't add comments last night but I took wife out to dinner, washed car, unpacked, repacked and was back up at 5AM this morning for my 2 hour commute into work.

I'll start posting some pictures tonight when I get to the hotel.

I already miss "My Old Kentucky Home" -
THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THIS SUCH A FUN FILLED WEEKEND.
