Tin City Cookie Run @ Riverwalk, Naples, Florida

I have been asked by several people when am I gonna do another run since so many had so much fun in the Ring Around Lake Okee Adven., so here it is..

I had a real nice elaborate spiel going for this thread starter, finished it all up, then when I submitted it, this stupid site did not up load it, most frustrating let me tell. It is to the point that to start a thread you better put in Word first, this is not the first time this dam site threw my thread away.. I’m sooo pissed..

I’ll be quick this time around however since I can’t remember everything I posted in my original thread..

This run is called the Tin City Cookie Run. Mainly because my wife has specifically on more than one occasion come to Tin City Riverwalk to come and buy cookies ONLY… Yes indeed, this complex has a facility that makes these huge chocolate chip cookies, and macadamia nut cookies.. wow good stuff.. Fresh everyday, Called the Cookie Factory, so that is sorta the theme. (Of course I said it much better on my ORIGINAL thread starter..)

OK, Run date, Sunday, July 20th, see google map attached below. We will meet up just past the toll booth on the first rest area heading west on the alley, see star pointer. Time 10AM . I will also probably be making a pre-run, probably 2 weeks before hand to reconnoiter the site and see where and what we can eat, anybody want to join me? It will be best if assistance is given on where to eat... Mind ya, this is a tourist trap area (what place in Florida isn’t) so prices are high.. I was considering doing this run in the afternoon and eating dinner instead, but since it is on a Sunday, many of us have to work Monday morning, so I think a morning run and lunch is best.. We’ll eat lunch, walkabout, buy cookies and skedaddle outa thar before sun down is the general idea.

Of course always open to suggestions, ideas, modifications etc etc…

Not sure if we can commit to the pre run yet...keep us posted on that date - but in for sure on the Tin City Cookie Run.

Can't do the run, got a seven day cruise that departs on the 20th.but would like to join you for the pre-run depending on the date. I do love cookies!

Hey, that'll be cool, you can help determine what the main group will be eating... As next month approaches, it'll be either the 5th, OR 12th, both are Saturdays for the pre-run.. What date works for you?

I got excited about the run and forgot all about the van's warped tour, an all day concert in bayfont park, on the 12th wich my cousin reminded me last night. So I I can't do the pre run. Which really sucks since I've never been to Naples and I love cookies!
Hopefully I can join ya for the next one as I wasn't able to do the ring around adventure either.. Have fun everyone and you can't ever eat too many cookies!

This does not require a pre-run for such a "small" group for reservations @ a place to eat. If this holds, which it looks like it will considering how long this has been posted, we will "wing it" like we did on the Ring Around LOA run. SOOooo, please confirm you are coming ..Val? I'm in for sure...even if I am alone... I want some of those cookies..

Yea, I got an email from her yesterday also, she told me about the KW run which I know about, & right now I will not planning to be going on. I then told her about our little short jaunt next Sunday.. Triple digits. I don't think so on Alligator Alley..The troopies would love to nail us doing that, besides, mama will be riding shotgun.. no where near triple digits, she'll have a heart attack...

We live in Naples and have an 08 white one....BUT we will be north in Ohio on this date....if you can, get to Fifth Avenue and park along there, great shopping for the women and some really great restaurants....McCabes has outdoor bars and very cold beer....just west of Rt. 41 on the south side is the Chicago Chop House....they have $3 martinis till about 6 PM and they are really good....they also have food specials there for the summer as well.....stroll up Fifth Avenue and it is always nice there...best regards...wish we were there....

Since we are going to be a small group, this should be fun. AND, since it is small, I decided not to do a pre-run to tie us to any reservations. We will be able to just pick & choose where, when and what to eat. It should not be a problem. Now remember, this place is basically a tourist type area, so expect tourist type "prices" if you will. We did get a tip on the Sky forum about a few places along 5th Avenue from a Sky owner, that unfortunately won't be able to make it, he will be out of town. I'll take note what he said and see if I can update the map with what he stated, we then can print out that section and decide what we want to do on the fly or even if we want to travel to "other" places. This whole thing is veeerrryyy flexible. Group decisions as we rock which for us and our group, should not be difficult... OK, check the map as the week goes on, I'll post something if I updated it or added or made changes. Questions let me know. I think I have everybody's cell number let me know, oh yea bring radios if ya have them.. I'll keep checking in daily to see if any more members want to join us.

PS: I'll do a little research on pastohio comments and suggestions and will see if I can add the areas he pointed as "points of interests". We then as a group can decide when we are there what we want to do.. I also agree it would of been nice to have him along, maybe next time. After all, Naples is close to us and would be a good point to re-visit in the future on another run..

**Map Updated, however I could not find Chicago Chop House, what I found is Bogarts Chop House which is to far north (almost to South Ft.Myers) so that will be out of the question. I still mapped it, but I need a little more info for the one mention in Naples to find & plot it. The other one NP on the map, an Irish pub is always cool. We'll see what the group decides and time of course is always a factor..

I agree, since we are so small of a group, should the weather be bad, or looks to be bad, we'll postpone until fall I think. We'll zero in on it Saturday night. I'll post a preliminary go, no go post, then final post Sunday morning early I guess..

Z3 not coming, yamatd3 riding alone looks like, don't know if LV will have a passenger, so our group will be 4 cars and either 6 or 7 people..how quaint.. This is to easy to manage.. I'm surprised no more are willing to come to this short half day run..
