Weekend ideas?

We were thinking of the following, to spend the coming weekend. Anyone want to join?

Friday, dinner n movies. The new Resident Evil looks to be kick (_l_) Southside of Charlotte?

Saturday, we are heading down to Kershaw SC to watch some friends do a motorcycle track day, and then during the afternoon, the Southern Ideal Home show is at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart Over on the East side of Charlotte

Sunday, was thinking of kicking around the Grandfather Mtn. / Blowing Rock area for some hiking and stuff.

Shoot me a pm if you want to go with.

cant this weekend

Sounds like fun, this is my weekend to go to the huge fabric store in Gastonia. I design Renaissance gowns and outfits for men. Each year I try and do Charlotte Ren Fest and Atlanta Ren Fest. TONS of fun, and if you dress the part then you are included in the fun and games all day long. I make new outfits for myself and my husband every year. I also design Mardi Gras ball gowns for the formal Balls that we go to in Mobile and New Orleans. Plus all the other stuff I sew. Anyway my friend Kathy and I are taking my van (NEED THE ROOM) and load up fabric for the up coming projects.

I would like to add that it was really nice meeting you both, my son's nickname is Boomer, in fact I call him little baby boomer smooger woogers. The kid hates it LOL he is now 21 years old!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST THOUGHT I WOULD ADD SOME HUMOR!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you have lots of fun

Kimberly

Wow! You make your own costumes! That is awesome. I think you would be my sister's hero. She love the Ren Fest. I've only been one time, but I had a blast. (actually it was year before last and we just didn't get a chance to go back last year. Bummer)
I would love to see the costumes after you make them. I bet you put a lot of work into them.

not to overtake Boomers thread but...

Mandi,
Here are a few, this was my Celtic pirate theme, the red material is Celtic knot work. It takes me about a 1/2 hour to design and several weeks to sew everything.
If you go back to the Ren fest you need to dress up for it, much more fun that way. I would suggest you dress in a Fairy design, your tinny and have a very cute face. The fairly type costumes are very very pretty and flowy and you get to put on beautiful wings with glitter. There is always a main Fairy at the Ren shows that go's around the festival and blows pixy dust on children. If you ever decide to go just let me know ahead of time and I can make you something fast and pretty.

My little brother, and his wife are HEAVILY involved in the SCA and the renfairs are their cup of tea. They are down in Greenville, not far from you...I'd almost be willing to bet you guys prolly know one another, with the amounts of festivals that they are part of.

Nice looking costumes! If in the area long enough, give us a shout, as the gas-house is not far from us here in Pineville.

Why yes...we saw 3!

Well, we did pretty much everything, except for the movie, and the home show...I was wrong about the weekend of the movie, and we opted to do house work instead of heading to the show

We did however head over to Linville Falls yesterday, and had a TOTAL blast! I'll put the pictures up when I have a free moment or 3.

Very nice pictures. I have to get out more and see North and South Carolina. I think I will start with Sunday drives in a different direction every weekend. Thanks for sharing Boomer.
