What extra activites do you want for the 2009 Tail of the Dragon?

MODS PLEASE MAKE THIS A STICKY!!!!
As event coordinator for the 2009 Tail Of the Dragon, I would like people to participate in discussions about WHAT ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE IN ACTIVITIES: I live 2 + hours away and can set up things easier. I can get group rates on different venues as well. I am starting this thread now so that everyone can have a say in what they want and it gives me lots of time to set stuff up. If you have suggestions on other things like food etc I can pass that on to our planning group. Each year this event gets bigger and bigger, if you have not been here yet then maybe 2009 is the year for you.
Discussions now open.

I for one would like an activity that would involve searching the area for still's. I think that would be lot's of fun.

The Tiki Lounge seminar was a hit in KY - maybe something along those lines.

Get someone to come in & offer pedicures/manicures/massages. It could be a sign up/pay in advance thing so the person is guaranteed their money.

And - I'll get yelled at for this one - but...I wouldn't mind having someone available to wash the cars. I know there are some that would never let anyone "touch" their baby, but some people just own the car for fun & really don't care who washes it. Maybe a local group would like to do it as a fun raiser, but they could be told about proper washing techniques. Just a suggestion.

Not sure how to do this one - but it would be nice if someone had a computer & everyone willing to share could download their pics each day onto the one computer - then a disk would be made & sold at a later time.

Pool party. Person with the best beach attire could win a prize.

And last but not least...you could hire some cabana boys.

I seem to recall in Kentucky that ChiliSky said there would be a pool party at her house.

POOL PARTIES are every night at Fontana, We have that one covered, The extra pool boys, well Ruthie we do have some very cute Sol and Sky owners. The pool party at my home is a 2 1/2 run, then eat and play at my house with another 2 1/2 hour tour of twisties back. I will look for a way for some of ya to sneak a peak at some stills if I can find them,,,,,DARKWING can sniff them out for me. We have to watch with the Tiki Lounge because like Kentucky the hotel would not allow drinks other than their own, so it has to be done in a room, but we will work on that one. They do have a spa and we might get some small discount if a certain number book for it.

Skip, Can I come over too? Please, oh please, let me come. After making sure that Barry survived this past year I need some good moonshine to clear my mind.
As far as the computer to download images to I could bring my laptop and then make Cd's or DVDs available for people that wanted them. Just need to make sure that they can transfer pics by USB.

Great idea. I think that would be more fun than searching for Barry!

The rooms at Fontana or even the Cabana rooms are your standard sized hotel room. Not gonna get a lot of people in one. I thought I have and this is just a thought from me, someone involved in setting a Tiki Seminar will have to get a cabin. Keep in mind this puts you away from everything else.

Fontana has an onsite day spa: Karing Karrs as chili mentioned. They gave us a group discount this past event. It's my understanding not many took them up on it.

This is not an extra event but a game we will be playing while we're at the dragon. A photo scavenger hunt!!

Everyone will be given a list at check in of the items and point values for each item. There will also be bonus items. Here's an example:

Photo of a THP officer 10 points
Photo of you and the THP officer 25 bonus points

The person with the most points after Saturdays runs will win a big prize. You must have a digital camera with a memory card so that the photos can be downloaded. Some of the best photos will be used in a slideshow to be shown at the dinner Saturday night.

THAT is DARKWINGS job, he is the pro at dodging them and he is the one that is suppose to alert us behind him. Really he is suppose to sweep them off the road with his modified under car scoop. We will see how well he does next year!!!!!
