Who in the South East has received thier 2008?

I have noticed that several 2008s have been delivered recently. Just curious as to who in the South East has received their 2008 Sky.

My car is on a train between Chicago and Memphis, TN. It left Chicago last friday. It must be taking the scenic tour along the river. Hope it takes some pictures to share with me when it arrives.

Do you know where the railyard is in Columbia? You can drive by it and look at all the Kappas sitting out front waiting for a truck. How's that for a to see your car sitting there waiting... waiting... and waiting.... It is in Dixiana, just south of town. I can describe further if you wanna drive by it.

Yes it is torture. My salesperson checks for me everyday to see if it is at the rail yard. I could have driven to Chicago and back 2 or 3 times at this rate. But they do say patience is a virtue. I just cant wait to get behind the wheel though.

I would think yours should be here by Wednesday or Thursday.

Yes, I know where the yard is, but I don't think they park the Kappas where you can see them. From what I understand they are also very picky people coming up to the fence and will run you off if they see you. I may try riding out there this weekend and to see if I can get a peek befor they run me off.

I always tell my hubbie that I don't have that virtue.

I have searched the forum looking for a way to track the Skys on CSX, but it doesn't look like there is a way. If anyone has found a way please let me know.

From everything I can find CSX is very "tight lipped" about thier shipping and will not help you track.

All the Kappas are parked out front. Unfortunately, where that road is and the way the railyard has a fence all the way up against the road, it is not very feasible to park on the side of the road and look out. What I did was drive back and forth several times, only catching glances quickly to see if my car was sitting there. But I know that all the Kappas sit out front, basically in the middle section of the parking lot. You will see Sols sitting in that same section too.

Also, you can call the office there and ask if your car is there, they want the last 8 of the VIN in order to look it up. Just say, "Hi, I am wondering if a vehicle has arrived there yet?" They don't specifically ask if you are with a dealer or not.

Thanks for the tip. I did ride by there today, but couldn't really see anything. I saw a bunch of Saturns, but no Skys. I am hoping that it is already on a truck since there were a ton of trucks out there either loaded or waiting to be loaded or that I just wasn't looking in the right place.

I road back out to Dixianna today and saw probably 8 - 10 kappas. The only one that I could make out was a Forest Green Sky with a tan top. There were 2 trucks that were being loaded with other cars siting in front of where the kappas were parked . I wanted to yell across the fence to the guy loading the cars and ask him if he saw mine, but I didn't.

I hope I get the call this week. I think knowing that your Sky is built and on its way is probably the hardest part of the wait.

I was at our dealer last week and he had two Skys, one was a redline that wasn't sold yet.

Well i was told today by my salesperson that my car was in Gavin, AR. She and i both were wondering where in the world is that. When i went to mapquest... ta da... i found out that Gavin is 5.56 miles from West Memphis, AR and < 10 miles from me, the car's final destination via rail. Makes no sense to me why it is there and not in West Memphis. I just hope it gets back on a rail car and takes a short trip to West Memphis tomorrow so i will get it by Thurs or Friday.

That was the first thing i asked my sales rep. She said they couldnt due to contract. Hopefully it will be reloaded and go a whopping 5.56 miles down the road to West Memphis tomorrow. Then hopefully i will have it by Thurs or Friday. I hope i will have my hitch and bike rack in by then too so i can get it install when i do MY inspection of the car.

I just received word from my dealer that my car is at the Train/Truck yard and could be delivered as early as tomorrow. It looks like everything is coming together. Car is in town, received Dejon CAI and IC pipes yesterday, Jay's Wind Shield should be here this afternoon. I am going by the paint shop this afternoon to see if they can mix paint for my calipers. I am so excited I can barely stand myself!

Was told by my salesperson today that my car arrived at the rail yard today. The GM had them put it as a hot item and it will go out on the first truck available. Hoping that will be Thurs or Friday at the latest.

I stopped by my dealership tonight and found out that my Sky had been unloaded off the truck only 5 minutes earlier. The detailer had already left for the night and won't be in until lunch time tomorrow so I can pick her up tomorrow evening. I won't be able to post pictures until at least Friday afternoon because of a death in the family, but I will get them posted ASAP.
