I got a message from the president of the
Gateway Cobra Club Inviting us to attend the car show they are hosting at the
RunNGun event at Gateway International Raceway. The date is Saturday, Oct 11. The day before Our Fall Foliage Run. I am hoping to be there, and looking forward to seeing anyone else that would like to join us. Here's the Flyer:
Attention – St. Louis Car Lovers:
I am Mark Earls – the President of The Gateway Cobra Club. Our club is centered on the 427 Shelby Cobras of the 1960s. We are a brand new car club in St. Louis. We formed in March of this year, and have about 25 members. We have a growing web community with about 40 active participants.
The reason I am writing you this letter is to ask for your (and your club’s) participation in our very first event. We are putting on a car show at a track event next week at Gateway International Speedway.
The event is “The Run and Gun Nationals” – October 8th to 11th. This event is a track centered event with drivers and cars from all over the United States. Cobras, GT40s, Daytona Coupes, and other replica and kit car makes and models will be in attendance. This will be the largest year for Run and Gun in its 22 year history – and we are very excited to be a part of this year’s events.
This is our first event and we are keeping it as simple as possible. The car show is Saturday October 11th. There are no categories like other shows. We have 3 trophies for the show’s winners. This will be the primary fundraiser for our club this year, and we hope to be able to expand the show in the following years. Additionally, we would like to show the out-of-town visitors that St. Louis has a vibrant and energized car culture by putting on a well-attended car show by many different makes and models of cars.
Please consider representing your club and entering this event with a few of your members – all are welcome!
