March 15, 2008 Springfield, Illinois St. Patrick's Day Parade

My dealership has asked me to recruit Sky's and Sols for the St. Patrick's Day Parade March 15, 2008 in Springfield Illinois. Parade starts at crack-o-noon. I will post details soon.

Please let me know if you are interested in parading with us.

Crap! I already told the kids up north I would do their parade up in Wisconsin. However, Springfield is so much closer and I'm already heading up to Chicago on Thursday the 13th.

Hmmm....I hate to bail out on something I already said I'd do. But this is way more convenient. Let me see what I can do and I'll let ya know!

BTW, you posting over on the Solstice forum? I can do it on your behalf if need be.

I know...only problem is I already committed to another parade that day up in Wisconsin. I'll see what I can do.

The tentative plan is to meet at Saturn of Springfield, 2350 Prairie Crossing, Springfield Illinois at or about 10:00-10:30 for car freshen up. We can caravan over to the parade staging area. (Usually Horace Mann Parking Lot) The staging area is open from 10:30 to 11:30. The parade starts at 12:00 noon.

Afterwards, perhaps we can grab a bite to eat. Open for ideas as to what people might want to do in Springfield while they are here.

I'll also talk to Doug, my dealer as to whether he has any plans for us.

I can do. I haven't had a chance to e-mail the Wisconsin friends to see if they mind if I stay in IL instead. As soon as I do, I'll let you know!

According to Goggle Earth it's about 1 hour 40 minutes to the Dealer from O'Fallon IL. So if anybody wants to caravan up let's meet at the Shell station on 50 at about 8 am and cruise up from there.

I sent a pm to suzy711Q as I feel bad about requesting I back out of something I said I'd do.

But, Dick and Cathy tend to meet up with me quite often for stuff and I'd like to return the favor if I can. So, if the Wisconsin friends don't mind, then I'll come to Springfield. If they'd rather I not back out, then I'll head up to Wisconsin. Chances are they won't mind and I'll be in Springfield!
