Would be glad to meet ya, John let start working on a route and I'm thinking Oct would be the best time.

And let's think about a place to have late lunch or dinner after the run or the end spot for the run.

Plus the Rams will probably be 0-6 by then!!!!

I'm interested

I'm interested. As long as I don't have to leave Springfield at 2:00 AM. Maybe an overnighter.

Looking forward to seeing some details as to time to start and where.

We're working on it, should have something finalized this week. Trying to make this one a good route for some good fall foliage.

We're starting to get this together, for Oct 12, if you're interested. A fun fall drive on some of Jefferson county's funnest roads, with maybe a couple of photo ops, and possibly lunch or dinner at Jilly's, depending on the time.

I seen John's route and it looks great!!! We are trying to work on a date for a pre run.

Time frame for the actual run would be around 9 - 10 am on the 12th of Oct, but the final start time has not been determined yet. Starting point would be south 0n 55 just south of Arnold. then running south on some great scenic roads and working our way back to High Ridge. 90 miles of mostly twistes and some great fall foliage.

Just before the winter time blues. So come on St Louis Sol and Skys let's have a good turn out. and all other areas are also welcome to join in

willis, Spfld-IL-SKY , DoWaDD come on down or over!

cathyandsteveg hope you can finally make a run with us

I drove most of the route I have plotted out today, and found that it will need a few minor tweaks. When I get it plotted right, I will post it here for all to see. This is gonna be fun. We will meet somewhere off of Hwy 55 near Arnold, and take the LONG way to Jilly's Cafe and Steakhouse . It's about a 115 mile drive through the rolling hills of northern Jefferson and eastern Franklin counties. We'll have a couple of scenic stops along the way, so bring your cameras.

Well I got it all plotted out on GoogleMaps, and it came up to 108 miles. Here's the link to the map on Google. It couldn't get much more crooked. This will be a blast. There's plenty of twisties, and rolling hills, along with beautiful countryside. All just a short drive south of the city. Let's go drive. Here's another link to the map saved in MyMaps

Anyone interested in a shortcut can probably make it to Jilly's from Arnold in 20 minutes or so.

Just wanted to let everybody know that as BLKGXP and I were talking we are want to make this a more leisurely run. Not to say that we won't take the twisties with some gusto but it is a foliage trip and we need to see the scenery.

Hopefully the timing will be perfect

I drove the rest of the route this morning to make sure it's all good. I made a few minor updates to the maps, and updated the links here. It should need no further changes, so anyone that would like to print it can now do so. I will have it printed out on the day of the run if anyone needs it. I will also have it downloaded onto my Garmin GPS from Mapsource. If anyone has a garmin that can take advantage of this feature, (NUVI 700 series or higher), I can send it to you. I love discovering new roads. It's even more fun Sharing them.

If you start late enough, I believe we are good to go. How long does this run take, when do you need to start to coordinate with a reasonable dinner time. Post time info when available.

Sounds like a good time despite rmfnsky being involved.
