Castro Valley Car Show '08... [July 12, Monterey area, California]

That time of year folks! I know it's still quite early, but I just received another invite to this year's Castro Valley Car show scheduled for July 12, 2008. Those that participated last year should have received their invite as well. Just wanted to throw this out there so you can keep that date opened if you'd like to join us. I'll post more details as we get closer to the month. Hope to see you guys and gals again and hopefully we'll be the biggest group of Kappas there again!

For everyone...

Here's some details regarding the upcoming car show this July 12th:

WHAT: 10th Annual Castro Valley Car Show

WHERE: 19300 Redwood Road, Castro Valley (in the parking lot behind the Redwood Chapel Community Church)

WHEN: Saturday, July 12th 7:30 am registration begins; 9 am car show begins

WHO: Sponsored by the Redwood Chapel Community Church featuring the '55-'57 Chevrolet Classics and open to all car makes, models, and years. For more registration info, call Jon Drury at 510-886-6300 x212

WHY: Get together with fellow Kappa and other auto enthusiasts, have a free lunch (for vehicle participants only) $6 for guests, possibly win a trophy, Rich (Wckd Sol won 1st place last year), and just to have fun with others in this annual event.


We had about 7 Kappas (both sols and skys) show last year. Be great to top that number this year. However, I may need to know participant head count prior to event to inform the organizer to reserve a lot for us like they did last year. PM me if your interested in attending so I can get a head count for the list. Hope to see you then!

Bump -

I know that the WCKCC will be represented ('cause I'll be there) but a few more members wouldn't hurt. Last year was really cool - lots of really clean classics in the show - however the Kappa crowd was kept pretty busy answering questions.

Plus, it's always cool to see more than a couple of Kappas in one place.

That would be fun if you guys can make it - all the info is in Rudy's post. A phone call is all it takes to get registered. Rudy is also a good source and he'll be asking for a head count soon.

btw - when you get your scrapbook images finished, send off like last time. Having a record of our runs is cool. I f you have a complete scrapbook finished(?) you might want to bring it to the show.

Just a quick update. Talked to Jon Drury, who's in charge of the show, and have informed him of our planned arrival. He will have someone reserve a space for our Kappa cars like last year but will need to get an accurate head count a couple days before the show. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks.

I just snail mailed my registration in today for the car show. Looks like Roadrunner will be joining us too! Karen we will try to find some shopping close by for you. Barb

Just a bump as the weekend is fastly approaching. If you have not registered by mail, you can register (which is free) that morning. Please PM me for questions and hope that you can join us. Here's the headcount so far:

FYI - & to help Karen - There is a car gathering ( All makes invited) going now
are BMW's, Vipers, Z'z & G's, Supra's, Skys & Sols., & some exotics. Etc....

This starts At 8:00 PM Fri. night the 11th of July at the Stoneridge Mall (note to Karen) Pleasanton second level (upper) of the Sears Parking garage.
There will be around 100 plus cars. This event is in it's forth year and everyone is calm and drives sane. Each year it is in a different part of the Bay Area.

I don't know why I can't get any PM's. Anyways, I'm glad to hear that you're coming as well. Jeff will be there too but won't participate w/ the show since he had a fender bender not too long ago. Tried to get a hold of Julez but no response from her yet. So, I don't know if she'll show up or not.

I will be contacting Jon Drury to let him know that we have about 6 vehicles so far that will be attending so they can clear a space for us like last year. If anyone still wants to join us, let me know ASAP so I can include you in the headcount. Talk to you later.

Sounds like we'll have the original gang there and then some. Plus, it doesn't sound like it's going to be that hot either- which is good!

Yeah, we'll meet at Safeway (which is around the corner) around 715-730am Sat.

I talked to Jon already and he said that they're going to let us have that exclusive spot by the playground reserved for us like last year. If I remember correctly, there's enough to put 10 or more cars there.

So, anyone who's interested in joining us PM me and we'll hold a spot for ya' if you're running late. See you then!

I'll probably be driving still (comin from Antioch). Would've been great to grab breakfast there. Used to work as a waiter for Baker's Square while going to college. If I can manage to get there early enough I'll catch up with ya'll there! Thanks for the invite.
