Day has got to get better

Good news is no one was hurt. Bad new is as you can see by the attached photos - my SXY SKY is going to have to have a little cosmetic surgery scheduled for the very near future!

A guy in a 94 Chevy Camero decided to turn right into a driveway - unfortunately he was in the middle lane and I was between him and the curb (I was in the curb lane). He didn't see me until he hit me.

Good news he's an Allstate Insurange Agent (can you spell "got insurance coverage")!

Besides a new hood and bumper - I've got the clear bra that will have to be replaced as well. Hopefully all will be done by the Hope Valley weekend! If not, then I will bow out and hopefully find someone else to take my room with Gary and Karen et al.

Sonia

I pictured it much worse when you sent me the text. That will be an easy one. Monica had hers back in just a couple three weeks and you know hers was way worse. Take a good close look at your tire and wheel and make sure they are not cut or chipped.

Yes, it will be a fairly easy fix I am sure...and I know how blessed I am that it wasn't worse!

As for the tires/wheels...since he forced me into the curb I checked for damage on the passenger side. Didn't see anything visually but I am going to ask that they include an alignment when the car is finished...just to make doubly sure nothing happend that I can't see; although it seems to drive ok.

Much thanks to everyone for the good thoughts and vibes. I don't want to miss Hope Valley - afterall it is another chance for me to take time off - wait, off from what? I'll be unemployed again by then And just when I thought my life couldn't get better

I'm sorry.

It could have been so much worse. I would opt for a new bumper cover and hood if you can. Don't be afraid to be too picky on the paint job - they should be able to match it since they'll have the whole car and as Gunny mentioned - you should be good to go for Hope Valley.

Glad you weren't hurt.

(PS - have 'em check all four wheels for alignment)

What an asshat, at least it wasn't a hit and run. In my state they can get away with a hit and run if the damage isn't over $2k I believe.

Yes, I was very, very fortunate. However I will be surprised if it is less than $2K. The hood has to be replaced and the front bumper as well as the clear bra and as BigDog suggested alignment front and rear (didn't know they could/would align the rear - thanks for that tip Pete)!

His Insurance called me already and they were really nice. Have an appointment at 9:30am this Saturday for them to look at the car.

Guess he had a story to tell since it turns out the guy was on his way to an Allstate Insurance Brokers meeting

Safe driving to all...
Sonia

Ouch on Baby

Glad your fine and sorry that you baby has to go to the car hospital for a few days. Ken said to check the inner plastic wheel wells and braces real good as the plastic can have a minor tear at the mounting screws. That's what we had when we got the second cat under our car. Hope to see you at Hope Valley, you won't want to miss watching all the cooks we have to entertain us.
