Monthly Dinner for Northern Californians

Monthly Dinner for Northern Californians

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SpecRaceM5 has a great idea. He is organizing a rotating monthly dinner for So Cal Forum members.

Chance and I think it is an idea worthy of trying here in our neck of the woods.

The plan: Meet for dinner in a different location in No Cal every third Saturday of every month. Since our area is so large, the idea was we could make the dinners more accessible if we had it in different locations around Northern California. The dinner might be too far for some on a particular month, but hopefully not every month. The location will be determined by a member suggesting a different meeting place each month. If we have more than one location for a given month, we can run a short pole to determine the final location.

We thought we would start with Fairfield or Vacaville since it is sort of a mid point between Sacramento and the Bay Area. Our first dinner would be Saturday the 17th of February at a restaurant to be determined.

We would like this to be as informal as possible and fun. Why Saturdays? Considering the distances, we didn't want to have to drive too far on a school night.

What do ya'll think?

I'm game

I'm game

Unfortunatly I doubt I'll have mine by Feb 17.

It would be fun to organize a back road drive as part of these. You're right a bit of distance between Sacto and the South Bay.

Don't worry about not having your car. Just meet some other people with common interests. We are hoping this will become a moving monthly event. If you are interested in road events check out the WCkCC, we have multiple events every year.

OK This is going to sound pretty wimpy , but I'm in as long as it doesn't rain (or God forbid - snow! ) I don't take my baby out in the rain if I can help it. There's an Outback Steakhouse in Vacaville

A monthly dinner is a great idea. My Sky is at event code 3000 , so it may be a while yet before we can join in on cruises. But for now a dinner might be nice.

This is really getting some traction on both the Solstice and Sky side. Try and join us, this looks like it could be a monthly fun event. In the summer we could even have a run before dinner for those so inclined.

It is going to happen! We are working out the details and the location! I made a scouting trip on Sunday and it is 100% a GO! Check out the WCKCC web site, we have a number of events scheduled for the next year and this is really fun group! We are having a board of directors meeting on Feb 3rd to finalize our 2007 plans and we always welcome new members.

Eventually we will start Central Cali dinner meets. Owners are still spread a little thin in these parts. I wish you great success.
Remember, we need pictures of your beautiful Skys for a 2008 calendar.

Norcal Dinner is a GO!

RSVP Request

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It looks like we are going to have a fairly decent sized group for our first monthly dinner.

So here is the plan:

Rain or shine

6PM Dinner will be at Pietro's #2 in Vacaville. They are an Italian restaurant serving a pretty good variety of Italian dishes and pizza. They also serve beer and wine for those interested in such things. They will put us in the dining area of the restaurant and we can order off of the menu. We told them it would be 10-20 people. I am asking for RSVP's just in case we go over that number. which we may very well do!

The address is 679 Merchant Street, Vacaville, 707-448-4588. Take the Alamo/Merchant Street exit, follow the signs for Merchant Street, it is about 1/2 mile from I-80.

We need to give them a count and confirm by 2/10.

If you want to come but aren't sure you can make it, PM me so we have an idea of what the number of people showing up could be.

Optional:

This is the plan, I will post the directions and name of the Pontiac Dealer shortly:3PM We could meet near 505, maybe at the Ponitac Dealer or close by.

head up 505, west on 121, stop at the Dam, then head back on a back scenic route.

So Chance and I are hoping to see you all there! Please PM either me or Chance with your RSVP, alternatively you can confirm on this thread. Please let us know if you will ride with a copilot.

The plan is to meet once a month, so we need to start thinking about March. If you would like to see the dinner in your area please let us know. Please keep in mind, we need a location/restaurant that could handle 20 to 30 people. Also, as far as I am concerned the chance to get together over shadows the need for a fancy restaurant.

Dechief

Afternoon drive the 17th

Those that want to make a drive up to Lake Berryessa before dinner will meet at the Vacaville GMC / Pontiac dealership.

The address for Vacaville GMC is 350 Orange Drive. There is a lot next to the dealership at a hotel that we can park and meet before the drive.

We will post directions this week for those who want to get some driving in.

Hope to see you can join us!

Jack

Here are the directions to Vacaville GMC:

Easy version of directions to Vacaville GMC:

From I-80 take the Leisure Town Road exit (just past Vacaville going east) turn south on Leisure Town and turn right onto Orange Drive. Vacaville GMC will be on your left about 1.5 miles.

Hope to see all of you there, remember the dinner is at 6.

Headcount for Dinner

So far we have: Brainfreeze31, SoSly, Gunny, Fkeillor, Since46, JustHWS, Chance and Dechief for the dinner for a total of 15. If you are planning on attending please let us know so we can place the reservation.

Also be thinking of other locations as we want to make the monthly event available to as many as possible. This looks like a good way to meet some people with similar interests.
