This is one I would love to go on. We used to ride our horses from our house off Livorna road to Mt. Diablo it was an all day event and a lot of fun. Of course I probably would't recognize the area now, lots of changes since the 60'sHave to try to get the time off
It would be great to see the two of you again. I too have fond memories of Mt Diablo (if I could only remember them) being a product of the 70's sometimes fogs my memory. Barb
Well Ed and I took a drive up the Mt today, it was beautiful weather today too. I thought we could start our run off with lunch at Pete's Brass Rail and Car Wash in Danville, here is a link with the menu and address and such. We could meet at noon, there is a large parking lot directly behind the restaurant that will definitely accommodate us all. Pete's Brass Rail
After lunch it is up Mt Diablo to the summit. There were some bicyclist that we will have to dodge and weave around and a few twisties but all and all the pace was kept slow today. There are a few large enough places on the way up to the summit for all of us to park, there is an information center and observation deck to get a 360 view of northern Calif. Then after that we will be heading down the Mt on the Walnut Creek side and ice cream at Maggie Moo's Ice cream Parlor. Welcome to MaggieMoo's Ice Cream Treatery
I attached a few pics from the trip today. The only downside to the whole weekend (because I was on a total hockey high since our team beat the Cyclones last night and broke the Cyclones 17 game winning streak) was the fact that we caught a rock and now I have a crack in my windshield
We'll be coming from Roseville. Anyone want to join up and do the run to Danville together? Leave Roseville about 9:30?

Thanks for going to all the effort Sunday for our Mt. Diablo run. You are so deligent in planning and it has showed in your past cruise's. Looking forward to the cruise.
Luckily I was able to bring the car to a windshield repair place and for 50.00 they fixed it, I guess it beats the alternative of a new windshield which the guy told me would of been 450.00!! Yikes! See you all in a few weeks. Barb

SGS (Silly Grin Syndrome) still has me in it's grip and I don't want to be let go!
Universal Law of Location:No matter where you go, there you are.
Bill, that is a great idea. I will change my retirement run to May. I was thinking that Jane and I might be able to make Sal's run in March. I could also visit my daughter in Los Osos while we are in the neighborhood.

Well it finally got here. My retirement. As of today I am offically retired. No work, No Job, On income.
Boy did I screw up this post!!!!! On well I guess my brain retired also.
It is finally here and you made it!
Congradulations Fred!
We will definitely have to do the run up right!
Darn you guys I hate to miss this one...so I am sending a STAND IN...he won't be hard to miss even tho he's not driving a Sky or Sol His name is Rich and he will be in a green 1919 Model T Ford Speedster with Yellow (Go Thunda you'll love this) wheels.
Be nice go him we've been friends for 20 years! He may meet you guys at Pete's or see you at the top. Be prepared cause he was up there a couple of weeks back and the top lot was packed with cars. He had to park down below in the second lot and wait for cars to exit so he could park at the top.
Take lots of pics and I want to see them on the forum when I get back from Greece on the 23rd.
Best
Sonia
