NoLA County Owners Roll Call

Are there any North Los Angeles county Sky/Redline owners say from the San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica, Glendale, Burbank over to Azusa.

Next question... Do you folks ever get together for a day drive or dinner?

My wife and I will be ordering our '09 July 1st and would like to meet other owners in the area. There are a LOT of nice roads around that aren't too far to travel.

There's a few SFV members, as well as a few SCV folks up here, but these folks have been a bit scarce lately. Must all be out drivin.

Faded back into the woodwork eh??? LOL It would be nice to have a get together for a "Sunday Drive" or whatever when we get ours in July. It would be fun. We have belonged to various clubs over the years that did just that.

When we get delivery I'll through it out there again and see who shows up.

Delivery in July? Not so far away there. A certain pre purchase test drive with a forum member jumps to mind. Ah, but I digress. (break-in period...) Keep pokin folks up here. Maybe something simple can come together.

I've driven both manual and automatic transmissions in the Kappa platform. The manual is substantially more responsive to control inputs. I find the automatic disturbingly hesitant to respond. The throttle is drive by wire, and you can really feel the programming that is designed to keep the guys in suits on the blacktop and out of the fence. Even with the traction control turned off, you will notice a lag between the control input and engine / transmission response--it's no 50 milisecond paddle shifter.

It really depends on your personal driving style, if it's stop and go traffic, the clutch gets a bit heavy after about mile 15 in stop and go.

Actually, since you're considering a manual at all, the choice is made--you will love it. With a crisp shift from first to second, you can reliably get a chirp from the tires. The automatic will never shift that crisply.

If it's a daily driver in heavy traffic, the manual will substantially strengthen your left leg, and the sole of your left foot will be tender, so the automatic will be your dream ride.

To more directly answer your question, YES there are some of us who do get together for drives.

In point of fact, there's one coming up this weekend:
We've got a drive-in movie night coming up July 5, and a Ventura drive coming up July 12.

Also, JohnD has a cruise down the coast June 28.

Check out the West Coast Kappa Car Club schedule at the club web site at http:wckcc.org

The full schedule of upcoming events is shown here: 2008 WCKCC Schedule

Hope you can join us at one of these events, and welcome to the forum.

I saw the title and actually got excited.. NoLA County is Antelope Valley .. LOL..

There are a few of us up here in the A.V. too, I would be inclined to meet in SCV area (maybe the mall) should something be arranged.

Maybe a Magic Mountain day or something.. we can all go and get burnt to a crisp, heat stroke, argue with ganstas and puke all over the park.. yea
