Google Maps Link Roll Call 1. Endi 2. RedSky1 3.Russsims 4.CheeseDog (Maybe?) 5. AdamVip 6. Ksly 7. Fastgxp 8. Jt72 9. Steve 10. Ksly PM Me to be added to the list If you are pretty sure you are going to make it or you know for sure go ahead and post in this thread so we can get a head count. 1st: Roll Call, Most importantly I need to know if you are coming 2nd: Preferred Jump off point Victorville Dennys Chosen 3rd: Whatcha Driving and Who's Commin' With Ya? 4th: Have you registered (better do it NOW!) / gotten your room yet? Ideally we will be leaving early on Friday morning and coming back is a whole other story. If you know of someone SoCal that will be going but doesn't frequent the forums try to get their info as well. If any of the NoCal drivers want to meet up on the way, let me know so we can work that into the mix! ![]() Last edited by EndiSky : 04-23-2008 at 04:12 PM. |

OK, I just spent the last 4 days in Vegas and live on the North side of L.A. county.
- Here is my take on things - Everyone goes to Vegas on Friday and everyone leaves Vegas on Sunday. Everyone in L.A. proper takes the 210 -> 15 route to Vegas and that can make the Cajon Pass stop and go traffic from Rancho Cucamonga to HWY 138 junction from about 12:00 PM on. (Fridays) If you leave Vegas after 1:00 PM on a Sunday expect to take about 4-5 hours to get to Victorville. We departed In-N-Out on Tropacana at 12:00 PM and it took us 4 hours to get to Victorville yesterday (sunday). sbcomposer, Consider the 126 to 5 (south) to 14 (north) to Pearblossom HWY to 138 HWY to 18 HWY to I-15. It sounds complex, but for the most part each HWY actually runs to the next. Google it and instead of going down the I-5 all the way to L.A. you just go to the 14 and up through Palmdale to Victorville. Honestly it doesn't matter on a Thursday and your route is all freeway. The Palmdale to Victorville route has some true "highways" like 126 with stop lights. However, I know I can go from Pearblossom HWY in Palmdale to I-15 in 60 minutes any day of the week any time since that's my route to and from work. I personally don't know if I'm going. Chances are we are not since we just spent a week in Vegas - have to go back this weekend for NHRA and then again for the Nationals. WOW that's a lot of Vegas - if I can ditch my NHRA obligation then maybe I can convince my better 1/2 to make the trip.. especially since we can take the sky. No cruise control A/C on and a week's worth of clothes in our 2002 SC1 sucks on a 4 hour trip.

I have a couple of detours to make, so won't be there till about 3 PM. I know, I know, the traffic will be bad, but I will be coming from Hemet about 11 AM so it shouldn't be as bad as coming through LA, etc. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again. Last year was a blast and this year will be even better! C'ya there! ![]() ![]() ![]() I LOVE MY SKY!!!! ![]()

Trip Update
Just want to make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to the timeline of the trip.
Please be prepared to leave around 7am. If you plan on eating before we take off please plan accordingly. There is a Shell gas station across the freeway everyone can fill up at, if you could do that before you arrive at Denny's it would be best. We are looking at a 166 mile trip. We'll do a quick stop in Baker for a potty break and to grab a cup of coffee or a quick bite. 10-15 mins. Then be on our way to Vegas. Official Timeline. 7:00->Leave Victorville 8:30->Arrive in Baker 8:45->Leave Baker 10:00-10:15 -> Arrive in Vegas @ Stratosphere These numbers will probably work out pretty close, We hit a little traffic that will slow us down and then make it up on the strait-aways. I would personally like to cruise at a good clip of speed but nothing insane or reckless driving fast (expensive ticket!) but we can all talk about that in person. For those that don't know me personally, My real name is Nick and I drive a Sunburst Sky 2.4 with no badges in the back, no plates (at all) and I have the Billett Grill. My Numbers are 951-852-5707 or 951-852-5772 If you are coming, save them both. If anyone has any 2-way radios that would help, I have one set. |
