Of course you realize that 8/30 is the opening weekend for Duck football? The Ducks are playing the Huskies which should be lots of fun if you are a Duck. Game starts at 7:00PM.

Sunday would probably be fine too. Just don't tell my OSU friends the reason.

Great! Even if nobody else shows up, we'll manage to have a good time.

Sounds like a good time. Please post again when you finalize the date.

I've worked with the drive-in before. They like car clubs. Give them a call and they will do something special for the group.

PM me if you need assistance.

Is this still in the works? If so, we would be interested in the cruise - not so much the drive in due to the distance involved and the lateness of the movie.

Still in the works. I've been out of town on business quite a bit for the last couple of weeks, so I haven't made much progress on the planning. I'll get some details posted later today.

At this point, I'm thinking Sunday, the 31st, to accomodate the Duck fans. I'm assuming people have Monday off work. Let me know if that's an issue.

Sunday would be great - since hubby says we are already busy on Saturday.
And I may have a Sunburst Sky to tag along with us.

Good. I'm going to PM you and Mike in a few minutes with the logistics I've pulled together so far. I need some input on which vinyards to hit. I'd also like Mike's "professional" input on the route. I'll post to the forum when it's looking solid.

Okay, here's the basic plan:

1. Meeting point: Starbuck’s at Barnes & Miller (7515 SW Barnes Rd #104, Portland, Oregon 97225) 11:30, Sunday, August 31. Start driving at 12:30

2. Drive “figure 8” in NW 2.25 hrs

3. Winery 1 – Sokol Blosser (closes at 4:00) 1:30

4. Winery 2 – To be determined 2:15

5. Winery 3 – To be determined 3:15

6. Winery 4 – Duck Pond (closes at 5:00) 4:00

7. Pasquale’s Ristorante, 111 W 1st St, Newberg, OR 6:00

8. Hwy 99 Drive-in Theatre, Hwy 99W, W of Springbrook Rd, Newberg, OR; Movie hasn't been posted yet. 8:30

Bagpypr and Celt03 have been helping me with the logistics and winery selection. After we have wineries 2 & 3 identified, I'll post a map of driving directions and a more detailed set of guidelines.

I've the updated information in the first post. See the attached Word document for additional details.

I'd like to get a head count so I can respond to the theatre, restaurant and wineries. Please let me know if you can make it.

Could somebody (maybe Bagpypr) post a link on the Solstice forum? There seem to be a lot more Solstices in this area than Skys.

Maybe I should change that to "very small pillows."

More updates in the initial post. To fit the schedule, I had to trim the wineries to three.

Important update

I drove most of the route last night, and realized the need for some changes. Turns out there was a stretch of gravel road along the route. Please take a look at the (modified) attached document.

Major change: I moved the initial meeting place to the Skyline Restaurant. That will help us avoid some speed bumps and some of the suicidal bicyclists. Also, it's a good place for lunch.

The trimmed driving route will also get us to the wineries a little earlier, so we'll have a little more breathing room.

Thanks. It looks like we won't have a big turnout, but I've noticed that smaller groups are easier to manage and have more fun.
