We would be there if it was earlier in the month but the wife is a teacher and school starts that week for the teachers. Next year make it a week earlier.

2nd Annual San Diego Regional Meet - August 15-17

The 2nd Annual San Diego Coastal Run dates have been set! The San Diego chapter of the GM Roadster Club will be hosting all Kappas August 15th thru the 17th in sunny California! Last year there were 36 Solstice & Skys that showed up from Arizona, New Mexico, and Southern California.

Accommodations: We have blocked the entire coastal view wing of the Guest House Inn in oceanside for this event, which is limited to 20 ocean view rooms (half kings and half double-queens). These rooms are on the coast-side of the I-5 freeway on the hill next to the Oceaside harbor, with an river/harbor/ocean view out their back windows (no balcony). The ocean-view rooms are $120 per night and are reserved only for those who are staying BOTH Friday and Saturday night. We have also reserved additional king/queen non-view rooms in the hotel which cost $90-110 per night. TO BOOK, CALL 760-722-1904 and tell them that you are with the GM Roadster group arriving on August 15th. The hotel has a swimming pool, a restaurant, free high-speed internet, and a continental breakfast is included. It is located at 1103 N Coast Hwy in Oceanside, within a block of the start of Coast Hwy (Hwy 1) in San Diego County.

Planned Activities (Tentative): The San Diego Roadsters club is working on planning the activities for this regional meet. If you have any suggestions or requests, please post something on the forums (you do not need to register), or use the contact us form to send an email to the organizers. For those who arrive early enough on Friday, we will probably visit the famous Gas Lamp district in downtown San Diego. Last year, on Saturday, we did a coastal run that left oceanside and ended at Mission Bay for lunch, where split up into a couple of different groups, some heading for the beach and others touring the harbor on sailboats, and we will probably do the same this year. Saturday night is still open, but this year, we may look into the Carlsbad area for dinner. On Sunday, last year we visited Julian, but this year we are exploring a trip up to the Temecula wineries.

Cost: There is no cost associated with this event (except for meals and lodging with you pay directly), and everyone is invited to attend any part of this gathering.

Please RSVP in the forums AND on the San Diego club website:
San Diego Roadsters - Saturn Sky Pontiac Solstice Club

UPDATE: We only have eight rooms left in our hotel block (out of 25). We are looking for other accommodations in Oceanside should this hotel fill up. Also, we are working on an event t-shirt this year, and will post information on how to reserve one soon.

COUNT: As of July 8th, 22 cars have RSVP'd.

Count us in. If there is any interest we can arrange a stop here at our shop in Temecula on Sunday. We have done wine runs for the last couple of years and we would like to help out.

The room block at the hotel is officially sold out. However, they said that they still have some Single Queen rooms left, and if you tell them that you are part of this event, they may still honor the $95 rate.

I have booked the Champaign Room at the Gas Lamp Strip Club in the Gas Lamp district of San Diego for a welcome gathering this Friday night.

For more info and to RSVP, visit:
San Diego Roadsters - Saturn Sky Pontiac Solstice Club

Afterwards, we will be walking the Gas Lamp district and then we'll probably drop by Ghirardelli's for some ice cream.
