Scavenger Hunt Sept 28th (Portland Area)
Howdy, my wife and I will be hosting a scavenger hunt Sept 28th in the Portland metro area. Hope you can come. Here are some of the details. Please post if you will be attending.
List Of Attendees (so far): IWantOne x2 Bagpypr x2 Out2launch x2 Bill(Ski) DBaker PurAngl Oregonian Carelitan x2 Object: · To combine a Poker Run with a Scavenger Hunt · To suck all of the fun out of the day. · A Good Time (For a good time call Jenny 867-5309). Rules of the Hunt: · Gathering: All participants will gather at the Troutdale Outlet Malls at 9:30 am on Sunday, September 28th. Rain/Make-up date will be September 32nd · Equipment needed: 1. A Solstice or Sky (Obvious) 2. A full tank of gas (Obviously) 3. Yourself (Obviously Obvious) 4. Team mate(s) with a Digital Camera (Explained Later) - ok not obvious 5. Spare Batteries (Not necessarily for the Camera! – Explained Later) 6. A Writing Utensil of some sort (Explained Later) 7. A Piece of Sidewalk Chalk (Explained Later) 8. A Langstrom 7” Left-hand Threaded Screw (Explained Later) 9. A Sense of Whimsy, Humor & Adventure! Teams: All participants will be divided into two or more teams. Each team will choose a Captain. Each team will be required to have at least one member with a digital camera in order to document the acquisition of any and all items. Each team will appoint a member to log all of the items “scavenged” along the way Route/Map: Each team will travel over a pre-designated route. We’ll flip a coin to see which team begins. Each team will be given a map and set of items to be obtained Detours: We recommend adhering as closely as possible to the designated route; however, if someone from Your Team shouts out, “Hey! - If we make a left up at the next intersection & go ⅜ mile out of our way, we’ll be able to find item # XX on ‘The List’! ”, then it is perfectly okay to detour from the designated route so long as you then, in turn, return to where you deviated from (See above – “Teams” . This will become important later on). Required Stops: There will be pre-designated stops along the route where the teams will be required to obtain certain photo opportunities. (That is in line with the Poker Run aspect of this gig). Unless otherwise instructed, ALL members of your team will be required to appear in each photo opportunity (See below – “Items to be acquired”). In addition, each team will seek along the designated route certain photographic items, or perform certain photographic tasks as given on “The List”. These items will be assigned a point value (See below – “Points”). Last edited by IWantOne : 09-10-2008 at 03:29 PM. Reason: Added to the Attendees |
