Washington Road Trip [personal trip Memorial Day Wknd, seeking travel advice]

We are planning our first road trip over Memorial Day weekend, but aren't familiar enough with WA to know where to go.
We will be leaving Puyallup Sunday morning and will have to be back home (~2 hours south of Portland) on Monday so not a lot of time.
We decided that the Cascade Loop was too much for this short of time.
Can anyone give me an idea of what would be doable in the short amount of time we have?
Also, does WA cinder the mountain passes? If so, are the roads pretty clear of the stuff?

Any hints on how to pack the "trunk" if we have the roof down?

TIA

You might want to check into doing a run around the Olympic Peninsula. It can easily be driven in as little as 1 day while getting you home in plenty of time.
It has Port Townsend, Port Angeles, & Lake Quinault, just to name a few places.
Lots of good lodging (B&B's, hotels, hostel's, etc) along the route & BEAUTIFUL scenery.
The state has a good website set up for touring Washington @

& then there is the site for the Olympic National Forest @
Olympic National Forest - Welcome!

As for packing - if you do not have Sky-specific luggage, you can use flexible tote/gym bags. Just do a test fit.
I can fit a week's worth of clothes for 2 in the trunk - top down.
