OK, here's our route description:
Join us for a scenic drive along the Rim of the World Scenic Byway
We'll start out at Baker's Drive Thru for a bit of lunch. ![]() Image courtesy Baker's Drive Thru Address: They're an authentic 1950's hamburger joint with hand scooped milk shakes. (Baker's History) We'll wind our way up old Waterman and climb up to the rim on Highway 18. We will visit the famous Red Rock Wall overlook for pictures and just looking at the views, we'll be up to Arrowhead for ice cream by about 3:00. Some pictures of Lake Arrowhead: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Images courtesy Lake Arrowhead Chamber of Commerce Then, we'll wind our way along the rim of the world highway past Running Springs... ![]() Images courtesy Running Springs Area Chamber of Commerce We'll end our journey in Big Bear Lake at B's Backyard BBQ for some real smokehouse style eats with a view of Big Bear Lake as the sun sets. ![]() ![]() Images courtesy B's Backyard BBQ Here's the route: Link to Google Map of Rim of the World Drive route ![]() Who's going to be there?
See you there! ![]() There's been some discussion of this over on the Solstice Forum at: Itching for a drive! Los Angeles, CA area. Attendees List
There's been quite a bit of discussion of this drive over on the SolsticeForum at: Itching for a drive! Los Angeles, CA area. [Sunday Sept 21, Rim of the World] - Pontiac Solstice Forum
The list so far:
Most of the Sky's missed the last Rim of the World trip in June to celebrate the beginning of summer, so by popular demand, we've scheduled another Rim of the World Drive to celebrate the end of summer. Post to this thread if you're planning to join us! ![]() Last edited by Crimson Avenger : 09-15-2008 at 11:28 PM. |

So, another one joins the crew...
Can't complain about this level of success. We'll have quite a crew for this drive. |
