I am planning on attending from Arizona. Also, I put up info on the trip on the Phoenix Sky-Sol site and the San Diego club sites. This looks like a great run!

Hard to believe...
There are just so many great twisties going through such gorgeous landscapes in Southern California. I am incredibly jealous of everybody who's going on this run.

When I booked my room at the Mt Laguna Lodge, they said that they only have FOUR ROOMS left. It should be a beautiful weekend, great weather, a gorgeous drive, historic towns and nice stops along the way.
Last night, I sent out an email to 50 San Diego owners, and hopefully we will get more of them to come up at least for one of the days. Thanks for organizing this! PS. "Vee" from SoCal will be coming on Sunday.

![]() I know I'm being a bit optimistic, but that's OK. I do hope your car will be ready in time. It was great having you with us for the WCKCC End of Summer Drive: Rim of the World [So Cal Sunday Sept 21] event. I do hope you can make it to at least one of the days in Mount Laguna. I've got my fingers crossed. |

Attendance for Sunday only
Well, it looks like I will only be able to attend on Sunday and will miss out on the Saturday run.
Any concerns with the weather? I read that besides the chance (20%) of a light rain, there may be strong winds (50MPH) in the desert. ![]() - Jon |

Beautiful Sunset tonight...
Well, I'm up at Mount Laguna now. (posting from my Treo) and the weather is cool tonight, but not cold. I've got a crackling fire in the fireplace, and the cabin is cosy warm.
The drive up was beautiful, and the sunset as I drove into Lake Henshaw was lovely. Just a few scattered clouds. As I drove east away from the coast, I drove out from under the clouds into clear skys with a few whisps of clouds--just enough to catch the vibrant pink of the sunset. Yes, there is a chance of rain tomorrow, and if it does rain, we'll be driving appropriately slower. (There is sufficient time in the schedule for that). Weather does ocassionally happen, even in So Cal. The folks up north at our parallel Hope Valley weekend meet will also have the potential for some light snow. In our case, the probability is about 20% during the day, and about 40% by Saturday night, but Sunday is expected to have no rain. It might be a bit windy down at Borrego springs, but at least it won't be the 105 degrees that was predicted 7 days ago... ![]() It is interesting to note that our second weekend meet, Ventura February 2006 actually started raining on us, and rained the night before. As we were headed to Jamala Beach, up the Pacific Coast Highway, we pulled off just past the point where the road goes inland at the rest stop to put up the tops. Then, by the time we got to Jamala Beach, an hour later, it had cleared, and the weather couldn't have been nicer. One other advantage is that there will be some scattered clouds which make for very nice photos. We'll get through any rain that we do have just fine. |
