WCKCC Northern California Drive-In Movie Night July 5 [Sacramento]

Let's get this fun event on our calendars! As noted on the WCKCC Calendar of Events, we are doing "a night at the drive-in" in each of the Districts on July 5th.

So, with that being said, the No. CA group will be going to the Sacramento SIX drive-in located at 9616 Oates Drive on Saturday night July 5th.

Watch for more information as it becomes available (like meeting early to grab a bar-b-que somewhere in the area and/or having a competition at a nearby Go Kart track)!

Once you've put it on your calendar, please add your name below! This will be a great way to break up a long weekend and since the drive-in usually gets out late, I'll be checking the area near the theater to locate a hotel where we can stay over!

If it is just the two of us (of course Ed will be joining us so it would be just the three of us) Popcorn purchase will be on me!

Of course my hope is that folks haven't gotten to booking July dates on their calendars...and we'll get a lot of interest when we get closer to the event date

Thanks Vincent...and you are right - everyone who REMEMBERS drive-in Movies loves them

Finding ones that are still operating is proving challenging - however since I am getting a recorded message at the Sacramento Six I am optomistic that we will wind up there

If not, wherever we wind up with whomever doing whatever we will have fun

If you've put this on your calendar (even as a tentative) can you please place your name on the list?

I want to be able to give the drive-in an idea of how many cars we'll have so they can save a row for all of us to park together! Also, I'll need an idea of a headcount so I can make arrangements with the b-b-q and Go Kart places.

Nothing will be set in stone so if you change your mind or circumstances come up...no harm/no foul - just gives me something to work with when I make contact with the drive-in /restaurant (oh and Go Karts too)

Hey that gives me a thought...maybe I'll try to find one of those old time drive in Restaurants where the waitresses come out on skates and we get served in our cars! Anyone familiar with the Sacto area know of such a place? If so, please PM me!

Well someone has to represent the poor Sols on the other forum, so I guess I will be there. Don't need a hotel but everything else is good with us.

The Central District of the WCKCC will be holding our July 5th Drive-In night at the one in San Luis Obispo. Depending on the interest, we will either just meet there or arrange for dinner first.

Yeah, what's up with that? Are we always outnumbered at these things? I thought there would be more Sol owners wanting to come out and show everyone what a really sexy car looks like Then again, I keep expecting those same 'sports car' owners to come out and give AutoX a try, but it's always just me

Also wondering how the movie is going to be decided? If you're taking votes mine is for "Wanted" even though it would be better if Angelina was driving a GXP instead of a Viper...

Ok, here's the plan...the week of July 5th, I'll see what movies are playing and the times - I'll post the information and we'll work from there.

Example: Drive-in Movie "X" starts at 8:30p
Go Karts at 6:00p (2 hours for Kart racing)
Dinner/barbque 4:30ish
All events/times are flexible (except the drive-in of course)

I don't know the area, so if someone wants to put together an afternoon "run" prior to dinner (not so subtle HINT, HINT) I'd be up for it...

There is hope for the future Myke. The Sols out numbered the Skys in the beginning....we just need to herd them back in a little.

Besides, truth be told...these Sky people are not so bad....long as they ain't yeller. (comment only directed at gothunda and in no way implies, casts, or directly insults any fine yellow Sky owner whom might come upon this post).
Some of my favorite people are Sky owners.
