Aug Million Dollar Hwy Cruise

Rich M and the SWKC are sponsoring a cruise to the Durango, Silverton, Telluride, Cortez Colorado Circle.

They are staying overnight in Durango. For more information, you could go to the Solsticeforum Thread showing trips, activities and map.

EDIT: Here is a new possible schedule based on further feedback.

I am still thinking of doing this on Aug 3-4, during the Telluride Jazz Festival, because school starts in Arizona after the following weekend. Rather than try to incorporate Four Corners, we would spend Friday Night in Durango and follow this schedule:

* 7:30 AM Depart Durango (those who are not returning checkout)
* 8:45 AM Arrive in Silverton, eat breakfast
* 10:00 AM Depart Silverton and drive to Ouray
* 11:00 AM Walk around Silverton
* 12:00 N Drive 50 mi to Telluride, stopping for photos
* 1:30 PM Lunch in Telluride (hopefully after the Jazz festival rush)
* 3:00 PM Head back down the hill to Cortez
* 4:30 PM Some head South, others return to Durango.

How about doing this cruise in August, the Million Dollar Highway? We'll bring some folks up from Phoenix. Also, we have a member from Farmington NM that would probably love to do this cruise, and maybe even get some folks from Utah to come down through Moab.

GM Roadster Colorado Million Dollar Highway Cruise thru Durango and Telluride
Maybe we could meet up at Four Corners late on a Saturday morning, which is pretty much equidistant (less than 8 hours drive) from Phoenix AZ, Salt Lake City UT, Las Vegas NV, El Paso TX, Amarillo TX, and Ft Collins CO. That way, we could drive most of the way there Friday after work. Rather than do this whole loop, we could stay up in Telluride or Silverton Saturday night, and then take the drive back down on Sunday on the way home. Of course, some people may want to make this a three-day weekend, in which case they can add stops on the way there or the way home, but going UP to the Silverton on the Million Dolllar Highway on Saturday is something we would all do together.

If you can attend please respond and check it out; Also please let richm know!
