july Cruise?

Not Yet. Unless we do some 4th of July Parades.

Are you planning on coming over from Salt Lake?

Hope you can, then you can pitch your July Cruise idea in person.

June 7th Cruise Update!

Mt. Evans Cruise: On Saturday June 7th the RMSSC is having a cruise from the Highlands Ranch (Starting Time:10:30 AM) area. Detailed Directions Follow: Drive W. Deer Creek Canyon Rd.([rte.124] Guide through Homewood Park following S. Deer Creek Canyon Rd through Fender merging onto S. Turkey Creek Rd. [Rte.122]. Turn Left (West) at Twin Forks [Rte 64] go under US Hwy. 285 on up N Turkey Creek Rd.to the dead end at Hwy 73 at Evergreen Memorial Park. Through Evergreen, CO. At the Stop Light Split turn left on Rte 65 past Evergreen Lake/ Dedisse Park,Hiwan Hills, Wahkeeney Park and Elk Meadows Open Space. At the Stop light where Hwy. 103 [Rte.66] turns left off Rte 65 make a Left and make a Ralley Point [pull over to wait for everyone to catch up and reform]. Hwy 103 is known as Mt. Evans Sceinic Hwy. Now on to Mt. Evans and don't miss the Mt. Evans turn off. After celebrating the highest paved road in the US we will go to Idaho Springs (Hwy. 103) to eat. This routing takes about 3 hours and 50 min., so eat will most likely be supper. Unless you drive like Tom McCain!
At some point during the cruise there will be a Club Meeting.

Ya, I'm coming over to go to that RR convention that I mentioned earlier. We will be arriving on the 6th of July, at least that is the plan right now. Have reservations at the Hyatt at convention center for the 6 and checking out the 9th. We plan on finding a less expensive place for a few days after and check out the area.
I may have to work on the 4th so I can't make plans for an early arrival yet. I won't no until the 2nd or 3rd.

The strip map and the existing plan does not include taking the Mt. Evans road. During our recon last week, the road remains closed with considerable (many feet) snow. It was felt that planning for a trip up the mountain this early in the year would be problematic at best. Also one of the objectives of this cruise is to exercise our new cruise planning process. Its also a first cruise with many fo the group members so the KISS principal was applied.

If the desire is to add the Mt. Evans road to the trip then a replan is inorder.

Or we can just make it adhoc like its apparantly been done in the past.

Cruise was a great success. 12 cars and 10 participants had a lot of fun.
