Run For The Colors Sep 22nd Colorado Springs
The Rocky Mountain Solstice and Sky Club invites you to enjoy the beautiful fall colors of the Rockies September 22nd. In the "RUN FOR THE COLORS" The run will start at the Garden of the Gods Main parking area inside the park. We will assemble at 10:00am for talk, have some coffee and begin our journey through this magnificent park. There are many turnouts through the park for photo opts and the twistys only allow 20 MPH max! No speeding tickets this time! We'll exit the park heading west towards Pikes Peak traveling through Manitou Springs. From there we'll take Hwy 24 west starting the climb to Woodland Park. Great views all the way up to Woodland Park and it's a very fun drive, again "NO SPEEDING TICKETS"!!!:
We will continue west through Woodland and I'm planning a few stops between Woodland and Divide as the Views of Pikes Peak and the Aspens are...Nice. At Divide, we will turn onto Hwy 67 and head south towards Cripple Creek, and again a few stops will be in order, to properly document the beauty. The views to Cripple Creek are some off the best I've seen in this area of Colorado, so I hope nature cooperates and gives us a great display. In Cripple Creek, we will be stopping at one of the Casinos for Lunch and a meeting. At this writing, I believe we will be meeting at the Double Eagle, but will post a confirmation of the meeting place as I'm asking for some reserved parking for us to Display our Cars and haven't received the OK yet. OK...this is as far as my feeble brain has planned a route. What I'm suggesting from Cripple Creek is going back to Hwy 24 and continue west towards Hartsel and the views of the Collegiate Peaks. Many of you are coming from the north and can take 285 back to Denver, or take 9 into Vail or head into San Isabel Forest or go South into Westcliffe area, or,or,or... the choices are many. I propose that we have a few routes that are designed to begin the process of heading back towards our homes, maximizing the best viewing along the way. We take many photos and create a wonderful photo log of Colorado from many points that will showcase our great state and awesome cars. CHIME IN PLEASE and I'm sorry I didn't post this earlier as I've been working 70 hour weeks trying to raise enough money to pay my SPEEDING TICKET Attending:mountainsky-2, whitefang-2, nighttamer-2,Badi_Dea-2, 66cat389-1 ,Mountainsky

Come on Sky Members let's Party!
Copied from mountainsky's email to club members: "I have reserved us a room at the Double Eagle Hotel/Casino for lunch and our meeting. I wasn't able to get a permit for us to park on the street, but we do have reserved parking at the Double Eagle, unfortunately it's in a parking garage (No Display...rats). Thanks and I look forward to seeing ya'll for another great cruise."
For those of you who haven't seen numbbers Mallett yet, be there, he will- numbbers-2! This is our last scheduled meet for this season, we do need to have as many of our club members there as possible, I would like to discuss next seasons meets/we have had some people volunteer to host a meet, visiting other clubs around the country, the 3rd National Solstice and Sky Meet in Las Vegas, and our own 4th North American Solstice and Sky Meet - 2009 at the Omni Interlochen Resort, Broomfield, CO from June 18-21.

Fantastic Cruise!
Well we made it home!
I'd like to thank mountainsky for a GREAT cruise this weekend! Garden of the Gods was awesome. The drive up to Cripple Creek had Aspens of yellow, gold, and red-gold colors. After our Rocky Mountain Solstice and Sky Club Meeting, we took a drive around the mountains at Victor and toured the Casinos in the Creek. Some people made money and some lost but all had fun . The Double Eagle had promo signs about our group all over the Casino and we had special guarded parking out front to show off our cars. I'd like to also thank nighttammer, numbbers, Badi_Dea, and SunofNighttammer for making this cruise clear down to Colorado Springs. I had a great time with all of you and enjoyed getting to know you all better. It took CW and I only 4.5 hours Friday night to get to the Springs and thanks to the Bronco's game today it took only 2 hours to get home. Of course that's nothing compared with nighttamer's 12 hour drive from Wyoming. Hope to see or hear from the rest of the club as we post future goings-on and more updates about the next years Cruise Season and the 2009 Meet. And as Rodeo always says- This thread is uselass with out pictures - So shortly they will follow!![]()
