I'm here in OKC.

Now, I've seen several other Skys on the road here, but can't seem to make any contact with the people here, or get them on the Forum.
I'm hoping, now with better weather, I can get something going through the local dealer.

Trip down the turnpike to T-Town

Every Tuesday evening at Fuddruckers Hamburger Restaurant 71st street and Highway 169 in Tulsa from 5pm to dark is a car show, if the weather is nice I will be attending. We had a good crowd tonight, only Kappa at the cruise in tonight. My buddy whom owns a red GXP drove his classic GTO convertible tonight so my Sky was all alone. You guys plan a drive to Stroud, OK or Drumright somewhere in the middle and I will try and meet up, also check out the MARS club they are the only group of Solstice and Sky's that get a few out a gathering of Kappas, see website: MARS - Midwest Area Roadster Society - Home

Weather

The weather has changed again, like it always does, hope we can find some time to get together.

Apparently there is noone else in the area that has gotten themseves linked up to the forum here.
Even though I try to leave a little card on their window when I get a chance.
Plan to try and get together with the local dealer when the weather stays nice.

Another Cruise-in in Tulsa

Tuesday April 1st we have the Cruise in I mentioned earlier in this thread at highway 169 and 71st street at Fuddruckers restaurant 5pm till dark. The second Cruise-in is just down the road 71st street and past 145th street at Rhema Bible college from 5pm till dark. This is actually in Broken Arrow not Tulsa but typical of metropolis its hard to till what town your in. They have Robyn's Hamburgers mobile trailer serving hamburgers, a little cheaper then he gourmet hamburgers at the other site. I think 71st street between highway 169 and 145th in Broken Arrow will be a busy strip Tuesday evening!
Today's forecast is NO rain Tuesday, but that could change!

You sent the twister towards Skiatook?

So is it not fun to run out and look for the twister when they sound the siren? Us home grown Okies are used to this heck I did not even know that I was in danger till I flipped on the local news, what its just a few miles north of our home and its still dark can not see it darn. The weather forecasters are really good at over dramatizing but this is what they live for. Glad your safe last I heard the town of Hominy had some cars that were flipped over that twister stayed up in the clouds this time, never really dropped down, very unusual for a morning storm most hit between 5-7pm.

But as you know, we don't control the weather.

And besides, if you wait 5 minutes, the weather will change.

We are all OK.It was hairy having it happen at 2 in the morning, having to get the Grandkids and the Dog and Nonnie down to the storm shelter.
Then when we realized it was over, we came in and found out that we had lost power. Luckily they got it back on at 4 in the morning. I know because all of the alarm clocks got reset and went off.
Hope this week is better.

freighty hole?

Wow you got your own freighty hole, we just huddle in the closet with our cats. I think the big joke for many is the storm shelter outside under ground is full of black widow spiders or snakes and most people would rather be blown away then actually go down that hole.
I had a older friend that was helping out at a home and garden show selling storm shelters. A women in her 70's that takes care of her 90 year old Mom was inquiring about the pricey storm shelters and the thought hits. If you have lived in Oklahoma 70 years in the same house and never seen a twister is it really worth spending 5 grand or more on a storm shelter? What is the chance really of these older women ever using that shelter? It is a crap shoot really, hit or miss, I guess why we don't have one we like living life on the edge. We don't live in a trailer, they always get hit first

When our Son had the house built, it was an added recommendation to get one, and with 4 Grandkids, we all thought the benefits were in our favor.
Although it is rater small for 4 kids, 3 adults and a dog.

Funny thing is, our Son has never used it himself, because he is always out of town when the "storms" hit.

Also is Pieinthesky out there???
Have you made it to OKC ???

EF-1 Twister

Just announced on the local news the twister that hit Hominy, OK was a EF-1 that is a baby twister, our home would of been fine if it hit us, it is the F-4 that you need to take cover. It was a F-4 or bigger twister that in the past wiped out the communities, Stroud, OK and Moore, OK also helps to know that those twisters seem to travel I-44 interstate must be the flattest route across the state.

I've been here a few days but until now I didn't have time to fire up my computer. I'm off weekends so sat. or sun. would be fine

Glad the tornado missed you. Most of the damage during hurricanes are caused by tornadoes. During Hurricane Wilma several homes a few blocks north of me lost their roofs.
