Kerrville 17

Kerrville 17 will be February 24th - 26th. Make your plans to drive the best roads in the most scenic area of Texas. For those that don't know, the 3 Sisters area is a technical course and even at slower (Tour) speeds is not a Sunday drive in the park. It is a very challenging and fun drive due to the length and many twisty sections. The Kerrville Run is the full length version of the 3 Sisters Run that was offered for the Austin 2011 Nationals. Lunch for the run will be at the Bent Rim Grill in Leakey and dinner will be at the YO Hotel.

We'll be staying at the YO Ranch Hotel, 2033 Sidney Baker/16, Kerrville (877-967-3767). Rooms are on the stupid tier system again, so I'm thinkin' this may be our last year there.

http://bookings.ihotelier.com/bookings.jsp?groupID=1651771&hotelID=12007
Room Single Rate Double Rate Triple Rate Quad Rate
King Non Smoking $85.00 $95.00 $105.00 $115.00
2 Queens Non Smoking $95.00 $105.00 $115.00 $125.00

Before you Expedia Commandos start hammering me on the rate, this price includes breakfast. If there any booking problems, contact me so we can get it straightened out. If you have any questions, please aks them in open forum. Chances are pretty good that someone else is wondering the same thing and it also saves me from a PM barrage.

Radios are MANDATORY since we'll be out in the boonies and have zero cell reception.

When you sign up, I need to know whether you want to be in a Run (Fast) or a Tour (Not as Fast) group and how many will be coming. As with all things SWSC, this is an open cruise. We don't care what you show up in, just show up...

Friday
9:30 - Launch for K'ville. Starbucks (132 W Loop 820 South) at 820 and I30.
Lunch - TBD.
Saturday
8:20 - 3 Sisters Brief
8:30 - Launch
Dinner at the YO
Sunday
8:45 - Return home Lunch at Hard 8

This site has so many problems with posting before or after something else that I will not rewrite this again if it doesnt go thru this time. The operators of this site should consider an update to a modern software. This stuff sucks!!!!!!

We will probably be there but being from this area, 24 Feb is prime time for an ice storm!!! Will make a decision before Jan 24th

Well, since 2007 we've been pretty lucky. Had 1 with bitter cold and 2 with some rain. We've prolly assured ourselves an epic ice storm with these posts, but what can you do? We've always done it in Feb so we have the place to ourselves. Cold seems to keep the bike groups at home. A bunch of them seem kinda confused on the whole 'share the road' thing.

Come see us over on the BBQ. It seems to be working fine.

OK, BBQ (Texas style, not Yankee style I assume) is always good. But I will expect "top up" weather in any case.

I live in San Antonio and have both driven the Twisted Sisters and ridden it on a motorcycle and it is a great ride/drive. I would like to go, but the 830 launch is a bit early for someone coming from SA. The Sisters are 100 miles total. So starting at 0830, getting to a start point and back can probably be done just a bit after lunch. I have left from SA, done part of the loop with lunch, finished the ride/drive, and been back to SA way before supper. So I was wondering if maybe you could change the schedule a bit? I'd like to meet and make the run, but don't want to have to spend the night in Kerrville.

Glad you saw us. mrs stuck is from SA. We've had a bunch of folks from San Antonio come play since it's about an hour from there. The Run is 350 miles and the Tour is 290. The Tour group will get back to the hotel about 2 or 3 & the Run will get back around 4 or 5. We've been doing it this way for 10 years and it seems to work out pretty good.

If I get up early, I can make it to the YO to make the run, which I'd like to meet up with some Sky owners as it has been awhile. How are you working payment for the lunch and supper? And are running the Sisters on both runs?

That's the spirit.
Lunch (Bent Rim) & supper (YO) are paid individually. The Tour group does the Sisters 1 time clockwise & the Run group does it in both directions.

OK, we have dinner reservations at the Cowboy Steakhouse, 416 Main, for Friday night at 5:30. They got good steaks, little birdies and Key Lime Pie. PIE. It ain't Hula Hut Key Lime Pie, but it's close. I need to know who's in so I can get them some numbers in a couple of weeks. So, lemme know. Oh, and by the way, we're a month out from twisties.
