Let us know how the autocross went, sorry Mike and I couldn't make it. I think I talked him into going to the next one though.

Mayhem Returns to the Strip

Took Mayhem out the 1/8 mile strip for a Sunday outing She made several passes, 9.0's with the best being as follows:

R/T: .038
60': 1.980
330: 5.835
MPH: 59.55
1/8: 8.997
MPH: 75.33

ESC was OFF. Turning off ESC definitely helps Et's and 60'. Turning off the ESC removes all the power robbers

Back next week for more runs. Tire pressure was 35 psi front/ 25 psi rear.
Next time I will run 40 front / 20 rear and should completely eliminate wheel hop. Launch was 3K on the brake, front brakes barely holding her back from breaking the beam to soon. Left auto in Low and let it shift out on it's own. Secret of this is as soon as you cross the line shift up to 4 to avoid hard downshifting by the tranny.

Metro SKY Owners Texas Raceway has now moved to their winter hours, 2 - 9 pm Sundays. As always $10 to race or watch, women get free admission and can race for free

Scarlett & I went to Saturday's Test & Tune at Texas Motorplex.
She was on her way to a high 10 second pass when her fuel delivery system failed Pulled a 1.7 60' and 7.3 @ 98 at the eight mile mark, 6500 in 3rd and power went away Wound up running an 11.60 @ 102.00. Scarlett went to dealer on Flatbed as she wouldn't start, Kathy picked me up from the strip in of course, you guessed it, Mayhem

Goes to prove what I always say, "On any given day, any vehicle, regardless of type can have catastrophic failures" Oh well, that why we have warranties: And dealer's who overlook a mod or two.

Yes Scarlett went to dealer wearing her drag radials

Ooops, hope Scarlett will be back on the track again soon! At least they didn't get a chance kick you out this time? Thankfully you've got good dealers out there - I'm not sure what the dealer over here would do if I dragged the beastlet in when she'd obviously been at the track.

Good tips for the RL, I'll definitely be out there again sometime soon - this time I'll turn off the T/C completely - I was running in Comp mode for the 'just in case' factor. Let me know when the group is going back out there. Just wish it was closer.

I got wooped in autox! I figured I would though being in SM2 with oem tires. They have about as much traction as four blocks of ice. After the second corner I pretty much realized I had no chance so I just wanted to have fun and turned the day into drift practice =) Second gear certainly has enough oomph to get it sideways very quickly in slow, but sharp corners. I turned on full T/C and ESC for the last run to see how well it would work and wow! I couldn't get it sideways no matter how hard I tried. Very impressive.

This was the last event of the season. Next one is early spring of 08 I believe. By then I hope to have some coilovers and a set of r compounds to play with.

Sounds like you had a great time. I should have sent you up to SoI to pickup my wheels and tires. NITTO 555's might have given you the traction you needed. They aren't getting any use waiting for repairs.

Interested in the Metro Sky club. How to Join? I just bought my wife a 08 Black Redline. I make a lot of shows in the DFW area with my Grand National, I'm surprised I haven't seen many Sky's? I have seen only one at a show at Parker Square in Flower Mound.

Most of our get togthers are at car shows. I'm Surprised we never met, espeacily at Parker Square. I would say our biggest get together are at the TMS event, which is twice a year. It'll probably be next spring before our next get together. Keep an eye out.

Glad to be here thanks Jeff.

There is a show coming up at Parker Square in Flower Mound on Sunday the 16th, since my GN is not ready I'll bring the Sky RL out for this show.

fast86gn, welcome. Hopefully will get to meet you soon.

Haha, SWTSKY.. If you pick the Cowboys, I'm sure feelings won't be hurt. This is Texas after all, football is pretty much religion.

Not sure if I'm in, it depends on how fast the insurance company works. It's all aesthetic damage, but it'd be sad to drag her out to a car show looking like she does right now. CJsSky, you and I could always show up and be sad and Skyless together.

You can go the custom airbrush route. Planet Airbrush at Grapevine mills mall did our shirts. Here is a copy of the artwork.
