Texas Red Line - Is there a good place to eat around your area? It would be great for all of us to get together after the drive. I think that you and SkyHighinTx are both waiting on your cars and we want to include you too - it would be nice to have some time for all of us to interact.

There are probably two or three options for eating. 1st off there is a barbecue stand right at the north end of River Road. You all could get the barbecue and fixins there and the come up to our house, we have a large deck and a great view, and we could socialize there. Their barbecue is good but no place to sit. I could even throw a couple of beer can chickens on the grill. 2nd, there is a restaurant on Canyon Lake called Papa Docks. They have a good assortment of food and its situated right at the marina. Finally, we all could go back to Gruene and eat at one of the restaurants there.

My wife and I would not mind meeting at our place it just depends on what you folks want to do. We live on a dead end road and you could park the Sky's right along the blacktop.

For the folks in SA, rather than meeting at the AT&T Center, how about the forum, or even better, at the SA Saturn dealer there on 35N. I am sure most folks know where it is, and it is on the way out of town. I am sure the dealer would be glad to see us pull in there. After all without Saturn, we wouldn't have our Skys.

We need to set a meet time for the main gathering and then back that up for the SA meet time.

I would like very much to meet the group on the 8th, but I could not make it until after 1 PM. I will continue to follow the thread and see what times things are going to happen.

I don't know whether we would be able to get into the Saturn parking lot on Sunday the 8th. If not, there is a Rudy's BBQ right next door and it has a big parking lot. Also, there is a Hooters at the same exit, a little futher down that has a big lot. Those could be options for lunch and/or a San Antonio meeting point on the north side of town.

My mistake too much back and forth here on the thread. I have been missing reading a couple of the posts before posting. I was confused and added to the continued confusion. I am ready for the 8TH if that is what was decided. I can meet everyone coming down 35S at any spot some one choses north of Austin. We can group up and head to the Saturn of San Antonino or pre determined resteraunt just off 35 north of San Antonio. Grab some lunch and see what everyone has in mind next.

Looks like it's finally taking shape, Can't wait. One question though???? OK, now help me out here. S.A. group is meeting north of town. And the D/FW (Ft Hood) group is meeting at River Road. After that, where are we all meeting??? Mark, Think we can make that drive by enchanted rock on the way down. Beautiful scenery on that route. Just a thought?? One more question?? How many SKY'S are committed or at least gonna try?

Aggie Sky, Skyhighin tx and I will work together to smooth out some of the wrinkles for you folks. We will start a new thread to firm up our recommendations. Let me give you a few points of clarifaction.

October 8th is on a Sunday and that is the date we are working with based on prior dialogue. The Saturn dealer is closed on Sunday with a big gate in front of the entrance. We will clear up the meeting place issue.

River Road is just West of New Braunfels not San Marcos. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to drive River Road and you come out at Canyon Lake

The folks coming down from Dallas would have a lot better trip if they were to take Highway 281. Mark would have a shorter drive to Lampasses on 281 then to I-35, where he could meet you. You would be driving a much more scenic drive, minimum traffic and good road. It would take you by Marble Falls, Johnson City and other historic Texas towns. It is also a straight shot east on hw 46 to River Road and the Canyon Lake area.

Aggie Sky, SkyHighin Tx and myself will come up with the logistics, i.e. Food, meeting place, times, route etc. and post it on a separate thread no later then Tuesday. I am assuming a 4.5hrs drive from the Dallas area.

We want you folks who are investing the time to travel to our neck of the woods to have a good time.

Geph, we will hook up early Sunday morning,(well not that early), I would like to get away from here by 6 or 7 to enjoy the cool morning, traffic free cruise to Ft Hood and meet up with Mark at the entrance to the base. they have a nice parking lot there. Arriving early enough would give us time to visit and stretch our legs, maybe even a snack. Antone else that is planning to go contact Geph or myself so we can pin down a meeting spot up here. I live between 35E & 35W so I can meet up either direction. Looking forward to cruisin' again, sorry Phototech can't make it. met up with him today at my dealer. He has to work next weekend, gonna miss him, maybe he can make the car show this month We have a few days left to iron things out and it is shaping up to be a real blast!!! Looking forward to meeting more Texas SKY's. Mayhem has her oil changed and is itchin' to cruise. She is gonna be hard to keep pinned up this week

Mayhem has 1032 miles under her now, and she is loosened up and chompin' at the bit I will keep her bridaled for an easy cruise, nothing hard core, but to be on the safe side I better be in the middle of the pack so she don't get frisky

I will pick up from there. Take everyone down 190 to Lampassas, hook up on 281 mentioned above, and do some sight seeing. Hook up with everyone down south where ever we determine later this week. I am really looking forward to hearing from any else interested in going. The clock is ticking, the count down to fun has begun!
