Tombstone Roadster Reunion Photos & Awards

We had about two dozen SKYs & Solstices at this year's Tombstone Roadster Reunion. Here are a couple of photos:

Our very own shady ladies:

The ladies particularly loved the LS2 Solstice:

Texas Kate performs with one horsepower:

There are more photos on the Sky-Sol site at: http://www.sky-sol.com/index.php?opt...id=43&catid=83

Can someone post the award winners from the car show in this thread?

We had a great turnout for the Duel in the Dust car show Saturday morning...
That Werks LS2 and Jerry's Sky recieved Judge's nods...I'm very proud to say I got the Boothill awards for highest mileage and my wife's blue one got Filthiest Scoundrel for her lack of effort both under the hood and all around. It was great to see old friends from San Diego Regionals and New Mexico clubs. BIG PROPS to Sam and Donna for the ride down from Colorado..."Longest Drive" and "Newest Car" 3 weeks!!!!

Thanx to Trail Riders for their hospitality and "Sorry" to the Sheriff and deputies...you guys didn't need to stop by....

Great photos, and a great event! Many thanks to Juanis for the boots-on-the-ground prep work, and to others who lead various parts of the event. There were SKY and Solstice owners there from Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio, Texas, California, and Colorado.

On Sunday morning, Ike Clanton (a decendent of the Clantons from the gunfight at the OK Coral) stopped by our table at breakfast. He said that he had an opportunity to take a close look at our cars, and that he scrapped his plans to buy a BMW, because for that price he can get a brand new pickup truck AND a roadster. I think he was mirroring the thoughts of a lot of truck-driving cowboys who roamed Tombstone that weekend.

speeding?...who me

I got pulled over on I-10 in Wilcox AZ on the way back to Las Cruces. I was playing around with a firebird and had to show him what my sky redline had. The officer got both of us at 105....$420 dollar ticket and a trip to jail...I talked my way out of jail and he reduced it to a civil offense...so I was able to take a defensive driving course and cleared my record. It still cost me $138. After all of that....it was a GREAT trip with a great group of people!!!! See ya in Vegas!!!

Major OUCH, but I am glad that they were willing to hear you out. Police in Arizona are generally pretty friendly, but I guess they all can have bad days too.

We have had several mostly friendly encounters with the police in Arizona lately, either pulling over entire groups or picking off targets. We are usually very careful to keep our group rides to within 10 MPH of the speed limit, but sometimes, the wide open desert roads are awful tempting. Most of the time, however, the officers were pleasant and were obviously just trying to do their jobs and keep the roads safe. One group did get tickets, but others just got warnings. My wife was picked off in the middle of a pack in September and she received a ticket. She successfully fought it, however, because the roadster ahead and behind her were able to testify as to her speed, plus confirm the existance of a truck that had just passed her and would have been a larger radar target than our cars.

Drive safe, and we'll see you in Vegas.

Great photos guys. Sounds like you had a great time. I acn't think of the place Tombstone without thinking of my favorite movie, Tombstone with Val Kilmer in it.

Best acting performance ever! "Poor soul, he were just a little to high strung."
