Anyone outside of Toronto get a Red Line order?

C'mon, prove me wrong! Word on "the street" says ALL gone to Toronto. If you have an order # and/or delivery, let us know the details i.e. where, when deposited, original # on waiting list, etc. Saturn Canada thinks it's allocating fairly. My a**!

Wow! Congratulations! At least you're semi-local! It's strange, though, that the first one went to Victoria and not Vancouver. Maybe the dealers here did something to p*ss off the "Allocation gods"? Next time in Victoria, I might stop in and put a deposit in there as well.

BTW, what colour, options, etc.? (You have just joined skybright as a person that I'm living vicariously though!)

Silver Graphite
Red/Black Leather
6 Disc Monsoon
Last time I was in Victoria, there were 5 or 6 on the RL list.

I understand how difficult all the waiting is. But even in the Staes the wait is quite a while. I put a deposit down in April and it will be this week when I get my RL. I am told it will be spring for people putting deposits in now. Its a hot car and there are long lines.

Red Line is on the train!

Finally got the call. My RL has been shipped, according to my dealer. Should arrive in a week to 2 weeks at the most. I don't have a VIN, order number or shipping date, but really, all I want is the car. I might even be able to DRIVE it home to my garage if we don't get anymore snow.

On one hand, I'm very happy for you. Let's hope winter holds off a bit longer so you can get some in. Can't wait to see some pictures!

But on the other hand, I'm not happy to hear that a RL is going to Winnipeg before any come to Vancouver (a.k.a. Cincinatti North?). The lastest news here is that the regional manager (meaning Western Canada? BC? not sure) told my dealer that there isn't one going to Victoria despite SaltSpringSky proving ! Makes you wonder if there's anyone really at the helm at Saturn.

BTW, what are your plans if there's too much snow and for the rest of the winter? And anything you say can and will be used against Saturn Canada!

I can understand your frustration regarding the allocations. I have no idea how they decide which dealer gets one first. Put names in a hat, fishbowl...flip a coin??? My dealer (2 locations) has delivered at least 10 base Skys so far; maybe convertible sales are higher in Winnipeg than Vancouver? Rain is not as frequent here as on either coast? Not sure if I would have ordered if I was told I had to wait a year or more. I hear they're well worth the wait though.
If there's anymore significant snowfall before I pick up my car, I'll have it delivered on a flatbed truck/trailer to my shop where it'll be stored 'til spring.
Snow, sand , salt and -30 C won't go over well with a convertible!
Expecting 11 C tomorrow which should melt what little snow is left.MAYBE I'll get to drive it for a few days before winter really hits!

Very very for you. I don't know what would be worse: sitting on a waiting list with no Sky or having a Sky and waiting for spring?

I think the base model sales are on about the same scale here (~10 each for the 2 dealers). Considering Vancouver gets snow maybe one or two days a year compared to "Winterpeg", it just blows my mind that they would send one there first. (I don't hear you complaining, though! ) You would think they would want the car seen in public and not tucked away for the winter months. And supposedly the Richmond dealer had the highest convertible sales last year (although they must be counting Saab because did Saturn make any convertibles before the Sky?) so there goes that theory.

Mine should be build this week. Im number 1 at my dealer who is part of a group of 3 Saturn Dealer.........

I dont know when my car will arrives still, but anyway if i take it its gonna stay in showroom for a while.........because im not getting back at home till middle of april....

Other than that i went to a dealership in Montreal and he told me that he sold all his sky until next summer.....

But I know in Quebec City they have 3 bases available.....

I just hope the fact that they dont sell their sky they will put down the interest because its way too high 6.4 for a GM......

Now there is a lot of Solstice used on the market........im tempted to get one of those, ill save a lot of money....

hi canucks

when I picked up my redline from a Brampton dealer on sept 20 he told me Canada would only ever get 6 a month this year and next . The General manager of this dealer has worked for GM for 30 years seems very knowledgeable . A no BS kinda guy!! He told me almost to the day when I would be reciving my car . I ordered it May 1/06 and now have 3300 clicks on it . I feel you pain gents .

That's a long time to wait again. Working out of country? Snowbird? Are you going to make note of the mileage in case they decide to "borrow" it for a test drive or anything?

I looked at M-Coupe yesterday. $120K CAD. I think a Sky RL is saving a lot of money as it is!

That's certainly in line with what SKYGAZR said about the number coming North so it'll be interesting to see how they're distributed across the country in the coming months. Maybe with luck, Saturn will notice that Vancouver is the only major centre without snow and will alter the balance a bit in our favour?

Does anyone one how they (Saturn or GM in general) define their sales regions i.e. East/Quebec/Ontario/West? Provincially? Ontario/non-Ontario? Maybe then we can figure out what sort of pattern there is (if one exists at all!). I'm sure the biggest cause of all the grief is the "not knowing".

Very ! I wonder how long it will take to arrive because I'm going to be in Victoria on the 19th...I wonder if the timing'll be right. I'd really like to see one in person. Or was it closer to have it shipped to Nanaimo or Richmond?

Rl

It'll be shipped to Victoria, only Saturn dealer on the island. Because of weather, etc., they are still expecting it close to Christmas or even early in the New Year. He was going to let me know when it reaches Calgary.
