NCRRO (Ottawa/ Gatineau) August 17

It's that time again to invite you to come talk about your roadster, meet other owners and cruise some scenic routes around the region on Sunday, August 17, 2008 at 9:00 am (Drive will commence at 10:00 am) in front of Turpin's Pontiac & Saturn Dealerships 200-2500 Palladium Drive in Kanata (Next to Scotiabank Place). We will be driving towards Brockville and the 1000 Island region and returning later in the day.

PNews has agreed to plan an excursion for us in their "backyard". We have choices about which route to take towards Brockville....the 416 is quick, but there are some secondary roads that will get us there in about 15-20 more minutes. If you have an opinion on which route to take, let us know. I think that it's safe to say that we'll be stopping for lunch somewhere along the way and it will probably be a longer day than our normal events.....but it's summer, so we'll get you home before dark....most likely around dinner time.

It's that time again to start planning for our next NCRRO drive......Sunday, August 17

So....here goes. The meet and greet on Sunday morning will start at 9:00 am in front of Turpin's Pontiac & Saturn Dealerships 200-2500 Palladium Drive in Kanata (Next to Scotiabank Place). We are planning on leaving around 10:00 There is the possibility of needing to travel in two groups, depending on numbers, so we'll need to have leaders and sweepers. Please let us know if you are interested and/or willing to assist with these roles. There will be detailed maps available and we have 2 sets of radios, but another set as a spare would be welcome. Again I suggest that you'll need a co-pilot as a leader or sweeper.

So....here's the route. We will be leaving from Kanata heading towards Merrickville, then over to Smith Falls for a "coffee & health break". Then we leave for Rideau Ferry and then Westport for Lunch. After Lunch, we head towards Lyndhurst then Lansdowne. Next we'll drive the 1000 Island Pkwy to Brockville then it's back to Ottawa/Gatineau via 401 & 416. It will be an all day event, since according to Mapquest the drive only will take at least 5 hours....just FYI for those needing to plan.
