New here, saying HELLO!

Hey guys and girls, new on this forum just wanted to say hello.

My girlfriend is looking at buying a Sky RL, just getting some info on them. They never really seem to have many, or any at all in the dealers, and I always trust actual owners over the deakers anyways.

I really like the Sky, looks like a mini vette!, and they are so rare, I almost never see any on the road.

If any of you are interested, every Saturday morning there is a get together at the Chapters across from Sherway mall, its in the parking lot at the back. Starts around 10 and goes till around 12 or 1. Its a great bunch of car people, originally started out by the Porsche guys, but usually some vettes and mixed exotics come there as well. All cool people, and non pretentious bunch of car fans.

I'd love to see some of your rides and pick your brains a bit.
I drive a yellow C6 Corvette and my name is Corrado by the way. You guys are more than welcome.

By the way, saw you guys did a Niagara cruise on the 7, so did we! Must'a missed each other, there was about 60 cars in our cruise! It was a great day for a cruise, hope you had as much fun as we did!

Welcome

Several of us here have both a Corvette and our Mini corvette, aka Sky RL. Husband always wanted the American Sports Car, at one time he owned a XK Jaguar Coupe, spent more time in the shop then on the road. This is very similar to my restored 64 Sunbeam Alpine GT, always something needing to be fixed. Seems quite of few Sky owners were and are still British car owners. I like driving our Corvette but more power then I need, just a different attitude with so many people, seems you either love a Corvette or hate everyone that owns one. The Sky is a whole different car and format, its build for fun, most have never seen one, and its affordable to the average income its a SATURN, Yes it's a Saturn! Only time will tell if it's dependability will match the Saturn of old, for me my Redline has no major issues, our Corvette had the recall on the coupe hard top. Funny when I drive the Corvette I am usually very serious, while driving the Alpine I do a lot of princess hand waves and in the Sky it's the Grin or thumbs up

Thanks guys! and here's a Corvette wave to a fellow Corvette owner!

Funny, I often feel like waving to the rare Sky or Solstice I do see on the road, but I think the driver might think I'm nuts!

That's the thing...you have hit the nail on the head. You don't see many of them and aside from the obvious "good looks" of the car, they are rare to see, unlike the mustangs, which number 1 oout of every 10 vehicles on the road here in Georgia.

Enjoy!

But hello from upstate New York from "Lucifer"

I am used to a lot of people waving at the Sky So far most of the Corvette owners are quite respectful of our GM roadster, we all know the Corvette is the American Sports Car, Sky/Solstice is the American Roadster, we all can share the same road Just to many of those Mustangs and foreign imports aka Miata's and Honda's out on the road.
Pet peeve is at the car show and the new Mustang wins over my Sky Redline, Ford lovers in rural Oklahoma. Go to any Ford dealer and buy one off the lot, like a Mustang is something NEW, NOT

How about a half wave from the SKY owner in me, and a half wave from the Corvette engine I have under the SKY's hood!

Enjoy it!

An LS2 in a Sky!! That thing must be a rocket!!! I'll give a you two handed wave for that!

I agree on the Mustang thing, to each his own, but Mustangs just seem to be a dime a dozen. Not for me thank you.

Hmmm, I might consider a trip down to Sherway this Saturday with my Solstice

I did try to suggest a mini meet for Sky/Sol owners this Saturday night (28th July) in Vaughan, but no takers so far. People still getting over the Niagara run I guess.

I won't be able to make it there myself today, have to work, but there's always cool cars and good people there if you go.

I'll be at the Sherway Chapters get together today. Hope to see some of you there maybe. I think I can still count on one hand the number of Skys I've seen on the road. I actually see more Ferraris where I live than Skys!

Feel free to check it out, should be some cool cars there today.
