Looking to make contact with any Sky / Solstice owners around the Ottawa, On region....possibly organize a cruise, etc.

im getting my car monday and dad is now working in Thurso doing the highway, i should try to drive there again and keep going to Ottawa!
I have been there twice but never really stop in the city......

Thanks for the info, I have joined the SOOO gang (great group) for several cruises from the Toronto area and had a great time, but was looking for Kappa onwers closer to "home" as Toronto is a 4-5 hr drive from Ottawa.

This doesn't help you find people based around Ottawa, but if something was organized on a free weekend, we would be willing to travel up to Ottawa for a run.

We actually have family down the road in Brockville and the 1000 Islands.

Sounds good...if you are up this way, let us know as there are some scenic drives around here. As well, if we can generate any local interest I'd extendi an invitation to SOOO.

Have you had a chance to install the air filter...I thought that I noticed a slight improvement in throtle ressonse when I installed one?

It has been installed, I'm honestly not sure if I notice a difference. I would have to try driving with the stock and with the K&N filter separately without me knowing which one was installed, and see if I noticed any difference.

At the very least it will save money in the long term at servicing time. Thanks...

Thanks for showing interest, most definitely will let you know if I have any luck here....likewise if there anything happening around Montreal or Tremblant let me know, we are always looking for a nice drive.

There seems to be some interest in getting together in the Ottawa / Gatineau area to "talk shop" (Kappa) and going for a cruise, so I was wondering if you are available and interested in doing something on Sunday September 9th?

Also there are some owners from Montreal that expressed an intersted...anyone else is certainly welcome should they want to make the trip

Since the distances are so far, would it make sense to have several smaller clubs closer to home, so that people don't HAVE to drive so far to the majority of the events? I am helping GM Roadster organize clubs, and I think that there are currently no Canadian clubs, so this would be an opportunity to do this with a clean slate. Three clubs: Ottowa, Toronta, Montreal -- is that how you would organize it?

In Arizona, we have two clubs and it couldn't be more fun. We do regional events together, but each club offers their own monthly rides. The nice thing is that if I am busy on a weekend of our Phoenix club, I can buzz down on another weekend and join the Tucson club, or we have a couple of people who do everything in both clubs. We tried organizing Arizona as one large club, but the people who lived 90 miles or more away felt REALLY left out of most events. Even if we were driving to their neck of the woods, they didn't want to drive all the way down here just to ride with us, and by the time we got to their town, we were tired of driving and we wanted to get out of our cars (as they were just gearing up for a drive).

Thanks for the information, but this would be the first time we have tried to organize a KAPPA gathering in Ottawa / Gatineau, so creating a formal club maybe just a little premature at this stage. First we need to determine the level of interest. As you know clubs take a fair amount of work and effort.

But it's certainly some "food for thought"

Richm : thanks for all the information. I can`t beleive that a person would not like to drive 90 miles to go to a fun ride or what ever may be organised. I got my R-L mid June and I just past the 15 000 km ( 8 000 miles) range on mine.

Bailey : i can get a hold of people who bought either a Solstice or a Sky from my dealer and the delear located in »Aylmer as he did send me some prospects to see how i liked my ride.

it`s confirmed ...i ll be there on the 8 th of september.

I have started a new post "Inaugural Solstice / Sky Cruise in the NCR"....here's more information about the 9th. Have you had any luck getting others interested in joining us. I have taken some posters to the local dealerships (Pontiax & Saturn) in Ottawa and they were more than willing to displace them.

We live in west Ottawa and would love to participate in a little run through the country in the fall. I own an auto parts store on Merivale rd and one of the things we did was have a car rally in which we had to pick up clues and follow maps and then ended the day with a dinner and some music at a pub. If there is enough interest we could get it going on. either if there is interest. Could be a lot of fun!!!. Moxxie (moxxy@rogers.ca)
