This will have to do (for now)

I was out grabbing some lunch today when I passed by the local Mitsubishi dealer and saw a red Sky parked right out front of their lot. When I went in to see what they are asking for it, they offered me a test drive. The only bad part is that I should have waited for a sunny day because I wasn't expecting them to let me take it for a drive.

So I called my wife at home and asked her to come for a ride with me because there was "something I wanted to show her". We took a quick spin up the road a ways and back before I took our daughter for the ride back to the dealer. Needless to say, they're now both convinced we need to get one!

(I don't mean to advertize it so it doesn't matter to me if the mods remove this part)
The car is a automatic Red 2.4L almost fully loaded with spoiler, luggage rack, and chrome wheels (I've already forgotten!) with 15K miles. It's apparently imported from Colorado so the gauges aren't metric. They're asking $34K CAD + GST (6%) which I supposed isn't bad considering a new 2008 is about $37K + GST.

Here are a couple of pictures I took. I think the second one is particularly fitting, with the Sky coming in to replace my beloved Sunfire.

I dont know about US Sky but you my sky in Canada i can change from Km to mille on the center info. I just found it this week! When i put it in Mile, i can see the tire pressure in psi and the boost of the turbo instead of those stupid KPA that i hate!
Its a nice little trick

That seems like a high price. I don't know if you were interested in a solstice or travelling, but a brand new auto solstice 2.4 here could be got for $30K. They are definitely around on the lots. There was 0% financing to boot. A few calls and a trip and I think you can do better.

Another option is to import one yourself. They are sig cheaper used on the US market.

Any way you go you'll be happy!

The only thing is that the speedometer gauge has MPH on the more prominent outer ring and KMH on the smaller inner ring.

I don't want that one anyway: it's used, priced too high, too high mileage, wrong colour, not a standard, not a Red Line, imported from US with unknown history, and last but not least, I'm not ready.

(BTW, it's no longer at the Mitsubishi dealer. It's now at a VW dealer on the other side of town. Probably the same owner for both.)

We saw it driving by on Friday at the VW dealer and were wondering why someone was selling so thanks for filling in the blanks, and glad to see you got to test drive it. And yes hold off for a stick as it is soooooo much fun to drive.
I had mine in for a trunk realignment today and they have ordered a mirror switch as it is faulty. Let's see how long it will take to get the part?

You were in Maple Ridge and didn't stop by for a visit????? Oh wait, you don't know where I live. Actually, I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like with lambo doors first-hand. I'm sure you'll let us all know when that happens!

We take hwy 7 everytime we go to our cabin beyond Hope but most of the time we take the VUE because we bring the cats up with us. I will PM you if we go up with the SKY and maybe we can meet up at Timmies.

Lambo doors by the look at the tracking ticket have just cleared Canadian Customs and are on route to UPS depot. So I should get them any day. Of course right when I plan to do things to the car warranty work needs doing. Minor though, they need to change the switch on the power mirror. Hopefully the dealer gets it pronto as I'm sure I'll get the call from Hahn to say my turbo is ready for the EMC adjustment. Therefore I will have to park the car until the turbo is complete. That is when the weather better be ugly! Can't wait to see the difference. This and the Solstice forum have been invaluable to research and make the decision to make these modifications. I'm sure from then on I will have problems getting warranty work done but that is the price you pay to have a little more fun.

Have a great day!
