If you call Canada Post with the tracking number, they do the exact same thing that you do. They can not tell you anything else. I have been to Canada Post & watched them do it. The lady spun the computer screen around & showed me. Let's just hope that it shows up & is not lost, it has been sent (tracking number). Your little baby will going VROOM VROOM in no time. Let's not have someone have to leave the sandbox.

[quote=senna174;332515]Dear BlueSkyRL,

Did you not see the stated delivery date was on June 26th, 2008? Did you see the status showing it was delivered? Where is the CAI now? Not in my car for sure, maybe it is on the mail truck. I suggest you to look carefully next time before running your mouth (or fingers in this case).

Senna174 is now on my banned list. What a ...sorry, if I can't say something nice...jerk. Oops it slipped out sorry again he he he

Actually, there is a lot to be learned in this thread.

And now for the pop quiz of the day:

What's the difference between FOB Delivery and FOB Shipping?

What's the difference between FOB Delivery and FOB Shipping?

FOB, Free On Board, is a transportation term that indicates that the price for goods includes delivery at
the seller’s expense to a specified point and no further. The FOB term is used with an identified physical
location to determine 1) the responsibility and basis for payment of freight charges, and 2) the point at
which title for the shipment passes from seller to buyer.
FOB Origin Unless qualified in the FOB clause, the buyer is
responsible for freight charges.

FOB Origin Freight Collect Buyer pays and bears freight charges.
FOB Origin, Freight Prepaid Seller pays and bears freight charges.
FOB Origin, Freight Prepaid & Add Seller pays and invoices buyer for freight charges.
DESTINATION
FOB Destination Unless qualified in the FOB clause, the seller is
responsible for freight charges.
FOB Destination, Freight Collect Buyer pays and bears the freight charges.
FOB Destination, Freight Prepaid Seller pays and bears the freight charges.
FOB Destination, Freight Collect & Allowed Buyer pays freight charges and deducts the amount from
seller's invoice.
FOB Destination, Freight Prepaid & Add Seller pays the freight and adds the freight charges to its
invoice to the buyer.

Funny, I've always heard it refered to as "Freight on Board" not "Free on Board". But the general meaning is the same, and I guess the terms are interchangeable.

Quote:
FOB, an abbreviation for either Free On Board or Freight on Board, is a term commonly used when shipping goods, to indicate who pays loading and transportation costs, and/or the point at which the responsibility and ownership of the goods transfers from shipper to buyer. The precise meaning of the term FOB varies:

Under the Incoterm standard, FOB stands for "Free On Board". Indicating "FOB" means that the seller pays for transportation of the goods to the port of shipment, plus loading costs. The buyer pays freight, insurance, unloading costs and transportation from the arrival port to the final destination. The passing of risks occurs when the goods pass the ship's rail at the port of shipment. Internationally the term specifies the port of loading, e.g., "FOB New York" or "FOB Vancouver."

North American use - Domestically within the United States and Canada, "FOB" is sometimes still used as per the long-discontinued "Foreign Trade Definitions" of 1941, with at least four different precise meanings.

The term is used in two common phrases, "FOB shipping point" and "FOB destination," to distinguish when the title of goods passes from the seller to the buyer. Under the terms of "FOB shipping point," the title of the goods passes to the buyer at the shipping point. Similarly, under the terms of "FOB destination", the title of the goods passes to the buyer when the goods arrive at their destination. The distinction is important because it determines who pays for the shipping costs of the merchandise: whoever holds the title to the merchandise at the time of its shipping pays for its transportation costs unless otherwise noted (e.g., freight prepaid or freight collect). Also, it is important that if the shipment is damaged while traveling the owner must file the freight claim.
Note that this usage is inconsistent with the official Incoterm definitions.

Difference is who pays for the freight & when they take possession (which would make a difference if freight claim would need to be filed)

All of our factories refer to it as Free on Board.

I do feel that senna174 was hasty here in his posts but he did not call saab9-3 a "scammer" on this thread.
I also feel that saab9-3 is also hasty in washing his hands of the sale.
The combination of saab9-3 saying it is out of his hands & senna174's impatience have caused this result.
In other words - IMO - both parties are guilty to a point here.
I agree with this.

This is out of line and lacks professionalism for anyone that deals directly with customers. I would have second thoughts about dealing with a vendor that is so quick to express his dissatisfaction in this manner. It just feels like its sitting there on the tip of his tongue waiting to be expressed whenever something unexpected happens.

If it were purchased using PayPal, and if Senna filed a complaint, all Saab had to do was provide a tracking number showing the item was shipped. PayPal, rightfully so, would have sided with the seller. So, be a little wiser next time you purchase on line...always get a tracking number and insurance.

Saab, if you did not request insurance on the item, then its your fault. Once it leaves the shipper's hands, it is no longer his responsibility. This is not an opinion, it is the rules, and the law. Sorry dude, but you need to educate yourself before spouting off...cuz you look a little silly.
