Don't know the exact reason as to why because this turbo was replaced once before (suspected of oil leak) but that turned out to be a gasket on the intake manifold. I would have to go back through her records to see when it was replaced and how many miles were on it before it failed. Since my wife drives about the opposite of how I my drive my GXP the only reason that comes to mind is it was defective to begin with.
Kind of makes we wish they had left the original turbo on seeing as when this one failed it was one week after the warranty expired. At least GM picked up 60% of the repair cost...
The reason it needed replaced was due to a crack. Not sure why it cracked given the low miles on it. I am looking for a diagram so I can show where it cracked.

If I was in the market for another one, the "debadged" would be a turn off for me. If you didn't dispose of them, you might consider letting the buyer know you have them.
I got 'em somewhere but I won't put them back on. I doubt most people looking at it would know they were even missing.
You may be correct in that most wouldn't know. I just know that when I was looking for one, I looked closely at the pictures to see if it said TURBO on the left rear, because I wanted a Redline and that was one of the things that indicated it. By no means am I suggesting that you put the badges back on. Some like you don't want the badges but there are others like me that do want them so I'm suggesting that the buyer may want them available and it may help a sale.
If I hadn't of bought mine a year ago I probably would have nabbed yours. Good lookin car, great price. Where in Vegas are you? I thought I recognized the style of the houses.
