FS: Passport Escort x50 Radar

I've moved to Virginia and it is illegal to use radar detectors here and in DC. I've hung on to it thinking I may be using it for trips but I haven't had the use for it thus far. Radar is in Mint condition $200 obo. The suction cups are not included in this sale. Sorry

I'm curious, so in Virginia and other places where it is illegal to use radar detectors, what do they do, give you a ticket? How do they know your using one especially if you have it conceled?

if they detect it using specterIII, they will give you a ticket.

It's not much and it's a non-moving violation. The x50 is pretty decent (but not as good as the V1 or the STI) in hiding itself from their scanners so as soon as you see it light up, just shut it down.

I've heard a trick truckers use is to always have a SASE inboard so if you get snagged just drop it in and seal it. The cops can confiscate but they can't open. You'll get it back in the mail in a few weeks.

that's what i've heard. personally, once i have enough for an STI i'm going to build it into the windshield surround. Just have a quick shut-off button.
