GM SEMA Project Sky For Sale - 2007 Saturn Sky Turbo

2007 SATURN SKY TURBO RED/BLACK

ONLY 800 MILES! OVER $30,000 IN EXTRAS + WE HAVE SOME OF THE STOCK TAKE-OFF PARTS! (YES, I STILL HAVE THE WINDOW STICKER!!!)

This Sky was built for Saturn for the SEMA show and was displayed in the GM Booth by Saturn at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. This Sky has been featured at many shows, events and Saturn dealers throughout the 2007 season. This Sky is virtually brand new with several high-end select custom upgrades that make it uniquely one-off, yet retains the clean and classy overall look. This car is still under factory warranty and runs perfectly. This truly is a steal!

From a distance, you can tell the unique styling of this Sky body kit was done by Franz von Holzhausen himself. (Yes, we will include the original rendering so you can chase Franz down when you see him at a Tesla event and ask him to sign it! ) The front bumper, side skirts and rear center bezel insert are all one-off items that give this car its overall unique value. The wheels are O.Z. Racing’s finest, with a custom offset to allow maximum caliper clearance for the custom one-off front & rear Wilwood brake system. (Can you say Corvette Calipers?) The Goodyear Eagles are so fresh, they still have the beads.

When you walk up to the car, you immediately notice the custom carbon fiber (Real 3K 2x2 Aerospace Twill) overlaid rear deck lid. Instantly, you know there are more subtle upgrades that you need to explore. As you open the door, you can choose to slip in normally, or vertically raise the doors Lambo-Style. The Vertical door kit is made in the USA by VDI and is the only "Patented" Vertical Door Kit on the market. In fact, all other door kit manufacturers pay VDI a royalty. Additionally, this is the only lambo-style vertical door kit sold at Pontiac & Saturn retailers. Once you drop into the plush seats, you feel and see a difference. The Katzkin Leather & Suede Seat upgrade is one of the best investments you could ever make. The perforated suede centers keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Shorts + Leather Seats + Hot/Cold Weather = Ouch!!! If you have ever worn shorts in a convertible with leather, you get it.

As you start to look around, you notice the custom carbon fiber (Again, real 3K 2x2 Aerospace Twill) dash components. Then, you turn the key and you notice that the audio system is simply incredible!!! There is no other way to describe it. When you sit in the car, close your eyes and turn on the stereo, it sounds as if you are in the front row of a concert. Clarity is evident and there is no distortion whatsoever even at level 10! ("But this one goes to 11...!") Boston Acoustics and Visteon partnered to design, engineer and custom build this audio system to the audiophile that has an ear for quality. Best of all, a factory upgraded head unit integration retains all factory steering wheels controls and allows you to use all functions related to the OEM system. Literally, two Visteon guys and one Boston Acoustics guy spent several days in a secluded facility with sound engineering equipment tuning and dialing in the system at a value of nearly $5,000.

You are ready to buy this car already and you have not even started it! As you turn the key, you will notice that the car fires up immediately and sounds like an exotic car, making a Lotus sound like a Prius. The Hahn Turbo, running through a custom rear-center split-tip exhaust makes a wonderful note as you rev it up. Upon driving this car, you will notice that the power is smooth and far from violent. The 275 Goodyear Eagles in the rear help keep traction under boost, but the power often overcomes the tires and you do end up with a rather large smile as you break loose. We opted for OEM height custom Sport springs for maximum comfort. However, you may want to lower it or drop in a set of Gravana’s BG Coil-overs. Like most aftermarket body kits, this kit takes a little time to get used to when you are pulling in and out of driveways, pulling up to curbs at the store, etc. However, it is nothing that some slight finesse and common sense can’t handle.

Below is a quick bullet-point list of the features and aftermarket upgrades:

  • Custom "One-Off" GM Designed Body Kit
  • Hahn Stage 2 Turbo System Installed by Hahn
  • VDI Vertical Door Kit
  • Paint & Body Kit Installation by AR
  • OZ Racing Hand-Built Multi-Piece Staggered 19" Wheels
  • Goodyear Eagle Staggered Tires
  • Fiberlab Custom Carbon Fiber Rear Decklid Overlay
  • Gravana Custom Center-Exit Lotus-Style Tuned Split-Tip Exhaust
  • Katzkin Leather & Suede Seat Upgrades
  • Wilwood ONE-OFF Front & Rear Big Brake Kit with Red Caliper Upgrade

We are only asking $39,995/ or Best Offer. Free shipping within 200 miles of 91350. ONLY 800 MILES! NEARLY $54,000 INVESTED!

Make an offer today!

Thanks. I know it is a deal... I had to write all of the checks to build it! LOL!

In a good economy, I would have sent it to Russo or B-J for auction. The appraisers I know that work for the auctions felt I would get $50k+ in a good economy. However, in this economy, only muscle cars and rare collectibles can get maximum value. Thus, it was not worth the effort and expense to take it to auction. I believe the best offer we have received is @ $25k. On eBay, it is currently @ $20k.

Hopefully, the eBay bidders know that eBay doesn't automatically place your maximum offer unless someone else's previous offer was higher, and that they can contact me and make offers to just Buy It Now and end the auction early.

Jim

Say it isn't so.......

Did this car really sell on Ebay for less than $24,800?

I hope not. If so, I am kicking myself right now. I would have gone to at least 25,000.

I'm looking at the auction now and it has 1 day 18 hrs left at $23,100, reserve not met. Hmm, looking at the pics above, it's clearly not the same. Don't know what I was thinking.

This one is actually a different car and doesn't appear to have a Hahn Turbo. It's also in OH instead of CA.

Oh, clever. I didn't pay that close attention to it. It had all the Rk Sport stuff on it so I just assumed...

well adive anyone?

Well, I was the second highest bidder at 24K and Gravana called letting me know that the winning bidder may be changing their mind. If they offer it to me at 24 K do you think I should jump on it? I was thinking of stashing it in grage and selling it later. Can't see how I could go wrong, wife says buy it and having two kappas would be cool. She had wanted a red one when we bought the white one.

This is Chad, not Jim posting.

I say come out and look at it (6 hour drive), it's a very sexy car in person. Every time I got out back and look at it I want it for myself all over again. This was one of the most fun projects I've worked on for Gravana. All of the custom parts just make this car truly unique and not just another car with off the shelf parts. If I didn't just buy a car I would be all over this. Sadly until I find a sugar momma one badass car will have to do.

Ps If you come out, bring money, I can almost guarantee you will be leaving with this car once you see it.

Jlans, if you dont mind just a bit of extra care to monitor the turbo, for 24k, no decision. Grab it. As far as parking it or selling it? I doubt it that'll happen. That deep strong pull of a F/I 2.4 will hook you first drive.

If ya want me to take Chad up on at least half of his offer, I'll swing by their shop and inspect it. They're pretty close to me. Not to worry. The checkbook, credit cards, and all cash stays at home. I've had enough test drives and rides in RPi's project car to know that much.

You are more than welcome to come check it out. Just give us a heads up so we can make sure we are here.

I have the HAHN Stage 5 on my Cavalier and it's been ear to ear smiles. Although the car and turbo kit are now up for sale to make room for the new project a little part of me is sad to see it go.

Chad

Well no need to see it live before I buy. After Chad's posts and talking to Jim at Gravana. I'm in. It will look mighty fine in our Garage and Sky events in the Phoenix area. Just waiting for final word from Gravana and its a done deal. Wife is thrilled as she really likes the Red and the manual transmission.(have to love that, what a great wife can't help but wonder if she has something up her sleeve) Gonna have to hide the keys while I'm at work.
Cerberus, thanks for the offer to go take a look, that's another thing I love about the Sky. The community around it, the people willing to help total strangers do some homework. I'll have to let you know when we are picking it up and you could take it for a spin.

Jon
