I ordered my 2008 Sky R/L on 05-04-07 and my dealer said he would have no problem financing my. Month later my vehicle was ready for pick up, the dealer then ran my credit and said sorry we can not finance because your credit score is to low and you will have to find a co signer in order to get a loan from us and I could not find a co signer because none of my family wanted to help me.
That's why! Isn't it sad ! I cried !

I did!
I tried the dealer first, and no luck.
I tried my bank Fort Belvoir Federal Credit Union, and no luck.
I also tried BB&T and they have the loan officer in there bank, and no luck.
So I'm screwed!

Yea it sucks getting turned down when you want something so bad you can almost taste it .... but if everyone was thumbs down ... it must be you are living on the edge financially. So it appears you are handling it and I wish you the best my buddy. Still hope to see you at a cruise sometime.

I work for a bank. We have many people in your situation. The problem is that no credit is almost as bad as bad credit. You can't get credit because you don't have any. Doesn't make since huh? The credit reporting agencies have a hard time giving a score without at least 3 open accounts with 6 months of credit history. My suggestion would be to get a small starter Credit Card and keep it under 10%, but with some level of a balance, even if it is $5. After a while you will start to build credit and be able to get a small loan and so on. Be careful with Credit Cards because those weigh heavier on your credit report because it is revolving debt.

That's a shame. Banks are not stupid either. They see you live at home, they see how much you make and how much you put in the bank. They can tell you like to spend money on gadgets and things and can tell your spending habits as well. If you were banking half of what you make and had a $10,000 -$15,000 deposit that you saved, you would have had a better chance.

I was in your situation, back in 1989. I was 19, living at home, good steady job making some decent cash, but I had saved $12,000.00 toward a house already (which was still in the bank, bought my first house at 21, with $35,000 saved). I bought a 1990 Nissan 240SX for about $21,000.00. I put $3,000.00 down and took out an $18,000.00 loan. I was accepted no problem because I had saved money and built my credit up from the age of 17 with small credit cards, which I only used to build credit, and I showed good financial responsibility.

Best bet is to save your money and stop blowing it on electronics that become obsolete in 6 months (iphone, etc.)! If you can show you can save $10,000.00 for a deposit and build some credit in the meanwhile, there is always a 2010 SKY!! My opinion, save for a house or condo and get out from under your parents wing before enjoying a luxury such as a Roadster, but that is

My advice to you right now is to establish your own credit. Get a couple 2 or 3 cards. Visa, Discover maybe a Master Card (hopefully you can get one). So I can understand why perhaps why they will not co-sign, but hey buy the car in their name should work AS LONG AS YOU MAKE THE PAYMENTS. My girls know that since these vehicles are in MY name, if they screw with me on payments, they are screwed, I'll sell the things right from under their butts, so thats the hammer. Anyways, sorry you could not get it done, follow the advice provided and perhaps soon, you won't need anybody. You gotta convince a bank that you ARE a worthy credit risk. Also taking a small loan and paying it back helps establish credit--Good Luck
