Like it says...brand new. I bought two just in case my former Supervisor wanted one for his Solstice. He says he listens to XM. He just doesn't understand the asthetics of it

. I love it and no more CB antenna look on the back. I haven't noticed any reception degradation on my daily driving, ymmv. Simple to replace, unscrew stock CB antenna and screw on new Stubby.
